Beautiful little runner. Cant fault the car at all, gearbox is also extremely smooth. I would compare it to a golf.

The car had dash alarm light on. There was mould growing in the boot and the car had the wheels sprayed black, without an update on the changes of the car.

I really love the features of the car. I personally got the Sport GT cause I wanted everything the car has to offer, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, Bose sound system, 360 degree surround view camera, e.t.c. You will have to pay a lot more to get these in other car models. The car is fun to drive.

Mazda3 (2019-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Stunning styling for a family hatchback | Far from the most spacious car in its class |
| High-quality fit and finish | Naturally aspirated petrol engines need lots of revs |
| Satisfying to drive, with nimble handling and a comfortable ride | Relatively high emissions |
Quick Summary
The Mazda3 (2019-present) is one of the best-looking family hatchbacks available, with design inspiration drawn from acclaimed concept cars. The cabin is appealing and well-finished, though rear-seat space can feel dark and cramped. The hatchback offers 358 litres of boot space with seats up, expanding to 1,026 litres when folded, whilst the saloon variant provides 450 and 1,138 litres respectively. Both versions deliver a thoroughly likeable driving experience with composed, mature handling and a comfortable ride that won't tire you on long journeys.
Mazda eschews turbochargers and hybrid technology in favour of naturally aspirated Skyactiv-G and Skyactiv-X petrol engines. The more powerful 178bhp Skyactiv-X returns 48.7mpg and emits 131g/km CO2, making it the more economical choice. The less powerful engine achieves 44.8mpg with 138g/km emissions, which is less competitive than rivals like the Toyota Corolla hybrid. Trim levels range from entry-level SE-L with alloy wheels and adaptive cruise control to GT Sport Tech with advanced driver assistance systems. The intuitive MZD-Connect infotainment system features an 8.8-inch display controlled via rotary dial rather than touchscreen, prioritising driver focus over the road.
Best for: Buyers seeking striking design, refined driving dynamics, and high-quality interior finish; those who prefer naturally aspirated engines and don't require maximum rear-seat space.
Not ideal for: Families needing maximum interior space, company car drivers concerned about emissions, or those wanting turbo power and low-end torque.
Comparison vs Key Rivals

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mazda3 | 4/5 | 4.5/5 | 31.9% | 4.2/5 |
| Volkswagen Golf | 4/5 | 4.7/5 | 36.8% | 4.5/5 |
| Honda Civic | 4/5 | 4.7/5 | 30.4% | 4.3/5 |
| Toyota Corolla | 4/5 | 3.7/5 | 36.0% | 4.3/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the Mazda3 if: You prioritise striking design and refined driving dynamics, value high-quality interior finish, and prefer naturally aspirated engines over turbocharged alternatives.
Consider alternatives if: You need maximum interior and rear-seat space, are a company car driver concerned about emissions, or desire turbo power and low-end torque.
Competitive Position: The Mazda3 (2019-present) is a thoroughly likeable family hatchback that stands out for its stunning styling and finely tuned driving experience. Whilst it lacks the spaciousness of some competitors and its naturally aspirated engines don't deliver the low-end pulling power of turbocharged rivals, its high-quality fit and finish, composed handling, and comfortable ride make it an excellent choice for those willing to prioritise design and driving pleasure over maximum practicality. The Volkswagen Golf and Honda Civic offer slightly higher user ratings and better value percentages, whilst the Toyota Corolla's hybrid option provides superior fuel economy and lower emissions for company car drivers.
