Peugeot 3008 (2009-2016) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Very good value as a used buy | Rear legroom a little tight for adults |
| Large boot | A Mazda CX-5 is more enjoyable to drive |
| Clever split boot lid | Some child seats can be difficult to fit |
Quick Summary
The Peugeot 3008 (2009-2016) is a versatile crossover that blends SUV, MPV, and hatchback elements, making it an excellent family transporter. While its styling might not win awards, its practical design offers considerable interior space, a large boot, and good headroom. Build quality for its era is impressive, with a distinctive wraparound dashboard. A clever split-opening tailgate adds to its practicality, making loading larger items easier. As a used car, it represents significant value for money.
On the road, the 3008 prioritises comfort, offering a smooth ride suitable for long journeys, though it's surprisingly competent in bends, especially with the optional Dynamic Roll Control. Engine options include popular 1.6-litre diesels known for efficiency, and a punchy 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol. Standard equipment is generous, including air conditioning and electronic stability control on all versions, with higher trims offering features like a panoramic sunroof. While infotainment is dated, Bluetooth was standard. It achieved a five-star Euro NCAP rating in 2009, providing good safety for its time.
Best for: Families on a budget, those needing a spacious and comfortable car, buyers looking for good value in the used crossover market.
Not ideal for: Buyers prioritising sporty driving dynamics, those needing ample rear legroom for adult passengers, or those requiring the latest infotainment technology.
