Porsche Panamera (2024) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Gorgeous interior | Not cheap to buy or run |
| PHEVs can be very affordable to fuel | Others have more space in the back |
| Great balance of comfort and fun | Complex options |
Quick Summary
The Porsche Panamera, a luxury four-door hatchback, offers a compelling blend of family suitability and long-distance comfort, designed for those seeking a high-performance vehicle without resorting to an SUV. The third-generation model, introduced in 2024, provides a spacious interior, though with two rear seats, and a practical 500-litre boot (430 litres for PHEVs) accessible via a hatchback opening, making it surprisingly versatile for its class.
As a driver's car, the Panamera excels, considered the best luxury four-door sports-GT, featuring powerful V6 and V8 engines, alongside E-Hybrid options offering up to 771bhp and significant electric range. Standard air suspension and optional Porsche Active Ride deliver an exceptional balance of comfort and dynamic handling. While ownership costs are high, PHEV variants can be fuel-efficient with regular charging, and its depreciation is more favourable than some direct rivals.
Best for: Drivers seeking a luxurious, comfortable, and sporty GT car for families or long journeys, those who appreciate a blend of refinement and handling, and buyers interested in plug-in hybrid efficiency.
Not ideal for: Buyers on a strict budget, those needing maximum rear passenger capacity (only two rear seats), or those prioritizing lower long-term ownership costs compared to SUV alternatives.

Consider alternatives if: You're on a strict budget, need maximum rear passenger capacity, or prioritize lower long-term ownership costs compared to SUV alternatives.
Competitive Position: The Porsche Panamera stands out as a unique and comprehensively capable GT car, offering a compelling blend of luxury, performance, and hatchback practicality. While it commands a premium price and higher running costs, its exceptional driving dynamics, comfortable interior, and sophisticated technology set it apart from traditional luxury saloons and even SUV rivals. The E-Hybrid models further enhance its appeal with impressive efficiency, making it an excellent choice for those who value an enjoyable and refined driving experience above all else.

Very comfortable easy to read dials driving position perfect plenty of legroom in the back great boot space
If you want the best then you buy Porsche ..outstrips the XC90, X5,X6, I’ve had them all & the Cayenne is the best by far, bulletproof!!
Little bit expensive for the age car plus high mileage
Personally, it was bigger than I expected. Very much more a saloon car. Apart from that lovely motor. I bought the smaller Taycan
