Renault Scenic E-Tech (2024-present) Pros and Cons

Pros	Cons
Roomy for passengers	Boot is an awkward shape
Good infotainment system with Google maps	Not as practical as a Skoda Enyaq
Useful range of more than 300 miles	Rear seats don't slide

Quick Summary

The Renault Scenic E-Tech is a modern family electric crossover that marks the welcome return of the Scenic nameplate. Featuring a 91kWh battery with 87kWh usable capacity and a 215bhp electric motor, it delivers an impressive official WLTP range of up to 379 miles. At 4.47m long, it's compact compared to some rivals, yet offers excellent passenger space with a 545-litre boot. The car comes well-equipped across all trims, with every model featuring a heat pump, heated seats, keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, and a 12-inch touchscreen with integrated Google software, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

Charging peaks at 150kW, enabling a 10-80% charge in approximately 30 minutes on a rapid charger, whilst a 7kW home wallbox delivers a full charge in 13 hours. Real-world range is estimated at 270-350 miles depending on conditions. Running costs are competitive, with home charging costing as little as 3p per mile on off-peak tariffs, and servicing required every two years or 18,000 miles at under £400 for three years. The Scenic drives smoothly and comfortably with responsive steering, though the boot's high lip and deep well may disappoint those needing maximum usable floor space.

Best for: Families seeking a spacious, well-equipped electric crossover with impressive range, excellent infotainment, and competitive pricing; those prioritising passenger comfort and technology over maximum boot versatility.

Not ideal for: Buyers requiring maximum boot practicality or sliding rear seats; those seeking the sportiest handling or premium badge appeal of rivals like the Tesla Model Y or Skoda Enyaq iV.

Comparison vs Key Rivals

The Verdict

You should buy the Scenic E-Tech if: You're seeking a spacious, well-equipped family electric crossover with impressive range, excellent infotainment, and competitive pricing; you prioritise passenger comfort and technology over maximum boot versatility.

Consider alternatives if: You require maximum boot practicality with sliding rear seats, seek the sportiest handling, or desire premium badge appeal like the Tesla Model Y or Skoda Enyaq iV.

Competitive Position: The Renault Scenic E-Tech is a seriously smart and capable family electric vehicle that combines excellent passenger space with impressive technology and one of the longest driving ranges available at this price point. Whilst the Skoda Enyaq iV edges ahead with superior practicality and handling, and the Tesla Model Y offers premium appeal, the Scenic undercuts both on price whilst delivering exceptional standard equipment. It represents excellent value for families prioritising comfort, connectivity, and range over maximum boot versatility, making it a compelling choice in the competitive family EV segment.
