Seat Arona (2017-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Light controls make it easy to drive in town | Diesel engines discontinued from mid-2021 |
| Spacious boot by class standards | No hybrid option |
| Composed and comfortable ride | Some owners complain of squeaks and rattles |
Quick Summary
The Seat Arona (2017-present) is a stylish and practical compact crossover SUV based on the popular Ibiza hatchback. It competes in a crowded market against rivals like the Ford Puma and Skoda Kamiq, offering a taller body and increased ground clearance for a more family-friendly proposition. Despite its small footprint, the Arona boasts a surprisingly roomy interior that can comfortably accommodate four adults, along with a generous 400-litre boot that surpasses many cars in the class above.
The Arona is pleasing and easy to drive, with a comfortable ride and composed handling. Post-2021 facelift models primarily use the efficient 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which offers a good balance of performance and economy for most drivers. Earlier models also offered diesel and more powerful 1.5-litre petrol options. The cabin is stylish and well-equipped, with most models featuring an intuitive touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. Good resale values and low running costs make it an appealing and sensible used purchase.
Best for: Families looking for a stylish and practical small SUV, drivers who prioritise low running costs and a comfortable ride, and those wanting an easy-to-drive urban vehicle.
Not ideal for: Buyers who want the most exciting driving experience (consider the Ford Puma), those who need a hybrid or a post-2021 diesel engine, or those who find the interior quality lacking compared to premium rivals.

The Verdict
You should buy the Arona if: You are looking for a well-rounded, stylish, and practical small SUV that’s affordable to run and easy to live with.
Consider alternatives if: A thrilling driving experience is your top priority, or if you require a hybrid powertrain, which the Arona doesn't offer.
Competitive Position: The Seat Arona is a formidable contender in the small crossover class. It successfully combines sharp styling, impressive practicality, and efficient performance into a very appealing package. While it may not be the most fun-to-drive car in its segment (a title often given to the Ford Puma) or the most spacious (the Skoda Kamiq is a key rival), its strong all-round ability and value for money make it one of the best choices available.

4 Overall rating
(5 reviews)Car was fine. My previous car was Seat Ibiza so I know the car very well. Just one problem there was no service stamps on the service book?
Nice super mini SUV ,It is a seat ibiza raised up to look like a SUV, interior is a little more spacious than you think, unfortunately i am 6 feet tall and well rounded so when drivers seat back enough for me to be comfortable there will be no room in the rear seat for a passenger. Limited engine options . great for around town but a little under powered if using motorways . Having said this if i was 5ft 8 inches and slim then i would recommend this car without any hesitation.
I am very pleased with my new car, it’s exactly what I wanted, suit’s me to a tee!
I wouldnt know what the Arona is like, I have never driven one. The Kamiq on the other hand is a brilliant car. I have the 1 . 5 TSI Monte Carlo. Its comfortable, spacious and economic. Would recommend it.
Excellent car, great to drive, and was in very nice condition. very pleased
