Seat Arona (2017-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Light controls make it easy to drive in town | Diesel engines discontinued from mid-2021 |
| Spacious boot by class standards | No hybrid option |
| Composed and comfortable ride | Some owners complain of squeaks and rattles |
Quick Summary
The Seat Arona (2017-present) is a stylish and practical small SUV that combines attractive design with genuine family-friendly functionality. Built on the Ibiza platform with added ground clearance and a taller body, it offers surprising interior space for its compact proportions. The 400-litre boot exceeds that of a Volkswagen Golf, whilst the cabin accommodates six-foot adults comfortably in both front and rear seats. Light steering and well-controlled handling make it easy to manoeuvre in town, whilst the composed ride quality handles challenging road surfaces with aplomb.
Engine options include a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol available with 95bhp or 110bhp, delivering real-world fuel economy around 50mpg. Earlier models offered a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 1.6-litre TDI diesel, both now discontinued. All versions emit below 120g/km CO2, keeping road tax reasonable. The Arona appeals to younger buyers and families alike, with extensive personalisation options through nine body colours and three contrasting roof choices. As a used buy, it represents excellent value with strong resale figures of 42-48% after three years.
Best for: Families seeking a stylish, practical small SUV with easy town driving, younger buyers wanting personalisation options, and those prioritising comfort and composure over outright performance.
Not ideal for: Buyers requiring diesel engines, those seeking hybrid technology, or drivers wanting the most engaging driving dynamics in the segment.

(3 reviews)Great car, very good value compare to other comparable small SUV's
Car was fine. My previous car was Seat Ibiza so I know the car very well. Just one problem there was no service stamps on the service book?
Nice super mini SUV ,It is a seat ibiza raised up to look like a SUV, interior is a little more spacious than you think, unfortunately i am 6 feet tall and well rounded so when drivers seat back enough for me to be comfortable there will be no room in the rear seat for a passenger. Limited engine options . great for around town but a little under powered if using motorways . Having said this if i was 5ft 8 inches and slim then i would recommend this car without any hesitation.
