Seat Tarraco (2018-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Lots of standard equipment | A little pricey compared with some rivals |
| Good to drive | Third row of seats really for kids only |
| Versatile interior | Badge doesn't quite have the kudos of a VW |
Quick Summary
The Seat Tarraco (2018-present) is a large seven-seat SUV that stands out with its sharp, stylish design in a market of often-bland family haulers. As Seat’s entry into the large SUV segment, it impresses with a spacious and well-designed cabin, offering a commanding driving position and good visibility. Practicality is a strong suit, with a versatile 40:20:40 split-folding middle row and a generous 700-litre boot in the seven-seat configuration, which is larger than some key rivals.
On the road, the Tarraco feels more agile and engaging to drive than many competitors, with stable cornering and a comfortable ride. All models are well-equipped, featuring an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a digital driver's display. Running costs can be high, particularly for the petrol models, though the 2.0-litre diesels offer a reasonable balance of performance and economy. While it may be priced slightly higher than some alternatives, its strong predicted resale values and generous standard kit make it a compelling package.
Best for: Buyers who value style in a large SUV, need seven-seat practicality (for kids in the back row), and want lots of standard equipment.
Not ideal for: Buyers on a strict budget, those needing the most economical running costs, or those who require adult-sized space in the third row.

The Verdict
You should buy the Tarraco if: You want a stylish large SUV, need the practicality of seven seats, and appreciate generous standard equipment.
Consider alternatives if: You are on a strict budget, prioritise low running costs, or need to carry adults in the third row regularly.
Competitive Position: The Seat Tarraco carves out a strong niche in the crowded large SUV class by blending sharp design with seven-seat practicality and a high level of standard equipment. It’s more enjoyable to drive than many rivals and, while not the cheapest to buy or run, its strong resale values and stylish appeal make it a smart choice against competitors like the Skoda Kodiaq and Peugeot 5008.

4 Overall rating
(1 reviews)Excellent car; love the panoramic roof and the virtual dashboard. The ride is quite hard and the sound from the speakers quite tinny. Having owned a Skoda Kodiaq, before, I had assumed that it would be similar. Instead, it felt a little like the poor relation in terms of interior quality, sound quality, and ride.
