I no longer needed a Chelsea Tractor. The Citigo has enough features, is not over complicated, it is easy to drive , comfortable and economical. This is my fourth Skoda ( each a different model ). Need I say no more ?

Skoda Citigo (2012-2020) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Better value than a VW Up | Interior not as posh as VW Up's |
| Fun yet comfortable to drive | Equipment can feel a little basic |
| Cheap to run | Limited performance |
Quick Summary
The Skoda Citigo (2012-2020) is a practical, fun and affordable city car that represents exceptional value for money. Available in three- and five-door variants, it offers surprising spaciousness with a 251-litre boot and comfortable seating for four. The light steering, responsive handling and willing 1.0-litre petrol engine make it enjoyable to drive around town, whilst delivering fuel economy of 45-50mpg. Safety is impressive with a five-star Euro NCAP rating and optional autonomous emergency braking, making it one of the safest cars in its class.
Running costs are exceptionally low, with insurance groups between 2 and 4, free road tax for pre-2017 models, and affordable servicing. The later electric Citigo-e iV variant offers pure electric motoring with up to 161 miles of range and costs just over £5 for a full home charge. Whilst the interior lacks the premium feel of the VW Up and equipment can be basic on entry-level trims, the Citigo delivers outstanding practicality, reliability and value, making it an excellent choice for budget-conscious buyers seeking a versatile small car.
Best for: Budget-conscious buyers, first-time car owners, urban commuters, and those seeking a fun, practical and economical small car with low running costs.
Not ideal for: Buyers prioritising premium interior quality, those requiring high performance, or drivers wanting the latest infotainment technology on base models.

The Verdict
You should buy the Citigo if: You're on a tight budget, seeking a fun yet practical city car, or looking for exceptional value with low running costs and excellent reliability.
Consider alternatives if: You prioritise premium interior quality, require high performance, or want the latest technology features as standard.
Competitive Position: The Skoda Citigo (2012-2020) stands out as one of the best value city cars available on the used market. Whilst the Toyota Aygo and Hyundai i10 score slightly higher overall, the Citigo offers superior driving dynamics and practicality at a lower price point. It delivers the same fun and comfort as the more expensive VW Up, making it the smartest choice for budget-conscious buyers who refuse to compromise on quality. The electric Citigo-e iV variant also provides an affordable entry point into electric motoring, though used prices remain relatively high.
