Skoda Enyaq (2020-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Strong value compared with rival electric SUVs | Pre-2025 cars have less generous standard equipment |
| Excellent passenger space and a large boot | Touchscreen can be slow to respond on earlier models |
| Comfortable ride and well-judged handling | Sporty vRS version prioritises pace over enjoyment |
Quick Summary
The Skoda Enyaq is a large electric family SUV that majors on space, practicality, and value. Launched in 2020 and updated in 2025, it shares its underpinnings with the Volkswagen ID.4 and Audi Q4 e-tron but carves its own niche by prioritising comfort and usability over glamour. It's exceptionally practical, with a vast 585-litre boot and limo-like rear legroom, making it an ideal choice for families. The interior feels classy and well-assembled, though the reliance on the touchscreen for climate controls can be a frustration.
On the road, the Enyaq is quiet, comfortable, and relaxing to drive. Two main battery sizes are offered, with the larger 82kWh version providing an official range of up to 365 miles. Real-world range is closer to 280-300 miles in good conditions. Fast DC charging is a key strength, with a 10-80% top-up possible in under 30 minutes. While a high-performance vRS model is available, the standard versions are more in keeping with the car’s comfortable character. Low running costs, particularly for company car users, make it one of the best all-round electric family cars on the market.
Best for: Families needing a spacious and practical EV, company car drivers seeking low tax bills, and anyone prioritising comfort and long-range capability.
Not ideal for: Buyers seeking a thrilling driving experience, those who need seven seats, or drivers who prefer physical buttons to touchscreen controls.

The Verdict
You should buy the Enyaq if: You are a family driver needing a spacious, comfortable, and practical electric SUV, or a company car user looking to minimise tax.
Consider alternatives if: You are looking for a thrilling drive, need seven seats, or prefer physical buttons over a touchscreen for main controls.
Competitive Position: The Skoda Enyaq is a fantastic family SUV and a leading contender in the electric vehicle market. It excels with a combination of space, comfort, and real-world usability that few rivals can match. While it may not be the most exciting EV to drive, its excellent value, high-quality interior, and low running costs make it a compelling and sensible choice for a huge number of buyers.

4 Overall rating
(2 reviews)Very good value,very nice car,lots of extras,lots of storage, great car
This car is a family car. Once purchased according to Skoda you can not fit a Tow Bar. This I understand is due to the Vin plate not stamped with the appropriate capability in factory. They say prep must be carried out with them. What good is this. All marketing leaflets etc show weights car is able to Tow. I placed an order with a showroom car . Day after I remembered I need Tow Bar for my bikes. Skoda say No, must be fitted at factory. Had to cancel order. Car only 50K ! Legal requirement in Uk. Skoda also said you can put bikes on roof rack. Must have Superman at factory to lift e bikes. I will now spend my 50k with a competitor.
