| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Exceptional interior space and practicality | Interior quality feels less premium than the previous model |

| Competitive pricing for a seven-seater SUV | Plug-in hybrid not available with seven seats |
Quick Summary
The Skoda Kodiaq (2024-present) is a spacious and versatile large family SUV, now in its second generation. It offers a choice of petrol, diesel, and a new plug-in hybrid powertrain, with front or all-wheel drive and five or seven seats. The PHEV boasts an electric-only range of around 60 miles. Practicality is a standout feature, with up to 910 litres of boot space in five-seater petrol/diesel models, and 340 litres even with all seven seats in use, making it an excellent choice for families.
Driving dynamics are generally comfortable and refined at higher speeds, though the ride can feel firm over low-speed imperfections, particularly with larger wheels. All models are well-equipped, featuring a 13-inch infotainment screen, 10.25-inch digital driver's display, and wireless smartphone integration. Running costs are competitive, with the 1.5-litre petrol achieving around 40mpg and the diesel around 46mpg, while the PHEV offers significant fuel savings with regular charging.
Best for: Families needing exceptional space and versatility, buyers seeking a range of powertrains including a practical plug-in hybrid, and those looking for a well-equipped large SUV at a competitive price.
Not ideal for: Buyers prioritising a premium interior feel or dynamic, sporty handling like a BMW SUV, or those sensitive to a firmer ride at low speeds, especially on larger wheels.

Consider alternatives if: You prioritise a premium interior feel, dynamic handling, or are sensitive to a firmer ride at low speeds on larger wheels.
Competitive Position: The Skoda Kodiaq (2024-present) stands out in the large SUV segment for its exceptional practicality, versatile powertrain options (including a compelling PHEV), and competitive pricing. While it may not offer the premium interior materials of some rivals or the sharpest driving dynamics, its comfort, technology, and sheer spaciousness make it an excellent choice for families and those needing a highly functional and well-equipped seven-seater.
Skoda Kodiaq Review

4.6 Overall rating
(7 reviews)Certainly showing no signs of age other than slightly clunky graphics on the control screen. Great fun to drive.
I dont think theres anything to find fault with. Its a well-thought out car. As a family we do big drives up and down and across the UK. A 12-hour journey is a common occurrence, the key to which is ensuring the teenagers/young adults are comfortable. There are other family SUVs available that would do the job, but frankly having what may be referred to as a premium vehicle does not interest me, the Kodiaq does it all very well and has all the ride quality of a vehicle that is far more expensive. So far, so good.
It is the perfect car for us as we have dogs and horses so a great mix of reliability and it looks good but didnt cost the earth
It is a nice looking car. Personally I think Skoda have started pricing themselves out of the market. For the spec and the price I personally think Volvo offer better second hand prices and better quality. It is an easy car to drive and of similar cars we have been looking at it is by far the biggest boot but I did find that it had a lot of sway when driving which did make me feel a bit Motion sick, I do get sea sick,. Still not sure what way we will go with either an XC60, current favourite but will have to compromise on boot space but spec and quality wise is far better, waiting to test drive a Tarraco and still considering the Tiguan allspace.
I was looking for a kodiaq with heated seats as standard. Some models dont have this feature so you have to shop around Until you find what you are looking for at a sensible price
