The Toyota Corolla is a great option if you want an efficient family hatchback, but don’t want diesel and don’t feel ready to go plug-in. It’s a tidy drive, looks smart and is well equipped, but we’d encourage you to go for the Touring Sports estate if you are considering this as a family motor, since space in the hatchback and saloon versions is a bit tighter than you might expect.
