On the spectrum of large van-based MPVs, of which there are a surprisingly plentiful amount, the Toyota Proace Verso feels like a very middle-of-the-road choice. It’s about average on quality, about average on desirability, about average on practicality, about average for driving manners, and about average on price. In one sense, that does make it recommendable, but by the same token, it also means that it doesn’t really stand out when compared with rivals.
