The Vauxhall Astra is part of the very fabric of British society. It’s been with us since 1980 when it replaced the venerable Vauxhall Viva, and it’s still going strong, with the eighth-generation Asta going on sale in 2022. As a result, it’s been one of the mainstays of the small family hatchback class for many years, competing with many names that are just as famous, those including the Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus, Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla, along with many other models besides. The latest car shares it platform and technology with the latest Peugeot 308, as both brands are part of the same parent company, Stellantis.

I turned up they had pressure washed the engine, it was dry when I inspected before taking it for a test drive. When I drove off test drived got back it was smoking everywhere and the man tried to tell me it was spilt engine oil.... It was not!

I wanted to buy this car but I observed from my research that one of its issues is oil leakage which is either coming from its engine or gear box components. Its also not so cheap to fix as it cannot be ignored.
