If you want a comfortable and spacious used car then you could do worse than consider a sixth-generation Volkswagen Passat. It was initially offered in both saloon and estate body styles and a wide range of trim levels and engines were available. There’s even a high-performance all-wheel-drive R36 model, as well as a sleeker version called the Passat CC. Reliability can be patchy, however, so buying a good example is essential.
