Audi A6 Avant (2025-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Low levels of wind and road noise | Boot is small by class standards |
| Lots of space for passengers | Interior quality not as good as previous A6 |
| Smart styling helps it to stand out | Limited engine range |
Quick Summary
The Audi A6 Avant (2025-present) is a premium estate car designed for families, combining the sought-after Audi badge with practicality. While it offers vast legroom and headroom for rear passengers, the boot space is surprisingly small for its class, ranging from 503 litres for FWD petrol models down to 404 litres for PHEVs, which is less than its predecessor and some smaller cars. It excels on long journeys with suppressed wind and road noise, especially with optional air suspension, and feels sure-footed on winding roads due to its quattro system (on diesel/PHEV). However, it doesn't quite cross into being fun.
Standard equipment on the entry-level Sport trim is generous, including adaptive LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, satnav, heated front seats, and a suite of safety features. Higher trims add larger wheels, stiffer suspension, and extra screens, including an additional touchscreen for the front passenger. The central touchscreen is large but can be fiddly, and climate controls are integrated into the screen rather than physical buttons. Starting from over £53,000, it undercuts some rivals, but the PHEV's higher company car tax and the diesel's slightly lower real-world MPG compared to some two-wheel-drive competitors are notable. Real-world fuel economy is around 30-35mpg for petrol, 40-45mpg for diesel, and around 40mpg for PHEV with a flat battery.
Best for: Families seeking a premium badge with good passenger space for long journeys; drivers who value comfort, quietness, and sure-footed handling over outright fun; those who appreciate generous standard tech.
Not ideal for: Buyers needing a large boot for an estate car; company car users considering the PHEV due to higher tax; those who prefer physical controls for climate; drivers prioritising ultimate fuel efficiency or sporty handling.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Audi A6 Avant | 3/5 | 4.0/5 | 27.9% | 4.0/5 |

The Verdict
You should buy the Corsa if: You're a family seeking a premium estate with excellent passenger space for long journeys, valuing comfort, quietness, and sure-footed handling, and appreciating generous standard technology.
Consider alternatives if: You require a genuinely large boot for an estate, are a company car user considering the PHEV due to higher tax, prefer physical controls for climate, or prioritise ultimate fuel efficiency or sporty handling.
Competitive Position: The Audi A6 Avant (2025-present) is a stylish and comfortable premium estate that offers a high level of standard equipment and excellent passenger space. However, its surprisingly small boot for its class, coupled with potentially higher running costs for the PHEV in company car tax and slightly less competitive fuel economy for other variants, means it faces stiff competition. While it delivers a refined, quiet ride and sure-footed handling, it doesn't quite match rivals for practicality in boot space or engaging driving dynamics, making it a good, but not perfect, choice in the luxury estate segment.
