Audi Q3 (2025-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Impressive touchscreen system | Small boot in PHEV model |
| Generous standard equipment | A BMW X1 is more fun to drive |
| Impressive EV range from plug-in hybrid version | Doesn't significantly move the game on from its predecessor |
Quick Summary
The Audi Q3 (2025-present) is a posh compact family SUV that competes well against rivals like the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and Lexus NX. It offers a comprehensive engine range starting with a 148bhp turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol, progressing to a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol with 201 or 261bhp, a 148bhp 2.0 TDI diesel, and a plug-in hybrid variant with up to 73 miles of electric range. The Q3 provides 488–575 litres of boot space with sliding rear seats, three-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree parking camera as standard equipment across the range.
The Q3 is perfectly competent to drive, with responsive steering and optional adaptive dampers that adjust to road conditions. Whilst the 1.5 TFSI petrol is adequate for routine driving, the more powerful 2.0 TFSI quattro offers noticeably better engagement and comfort. The plug-in hybrid delivers smooth power transitions and excellent efficiency, whilst the diesel provides torquey, economical performance. Running costs are reasonable, with good residual values and the PHEV offering one of the longest electric ranges in its class. However, the Q3 fails to wow in any particular area, and rivals from less premium brands offer similar virtues for less money.
Best for: Buyers seeking a premium compact SUV with generous standard equipment, a wide engine choice including a plug-in hybrid, and strong brand appeal. Not ideal for: Those prioritising driving engagement (BMW X1 is more fun), maximum boot space (Hyundai Tucson and Skoda Kodiaq offer more), or budget-conscious buyers who don't value the premium badge.

The Verdict
You should buy the Q3 if: You're seeking a premium compact SUV with generous standard equipment, a wide engine choice including a plug-in hybrid, and strong brand appeal. Consider alternatives if: You prioritise driving engagement, maximum boot space, or don't value the premium badge enough to justify the higher cost. Competitive Position: The Audi Q3 is a solid contender in the premium compact SUV segment, offering impressive standard equipment, a comprehensive engine range, and strong brand appeal. However, it's outshone by the BMW X1 for driving dynamics and the Mercedes-Benz GLA and Volkswagen Tiguan for overall value. Whilst the Q3 is perfectly competent and recommendable, rivals offer similar virtues for less money, making it essential to test drive competitors before committing. The plug-in hybrid variant stands out with its impressive electric range, making it an excellent choice for company car buyers seeking low BiK tax rates. Read our full Audi Q3 Review

What people say
Audi Q3 are great cars but the one you have advertised as a Q3 is actually an A£!
I do believe the car is very good value for money, the cabin quality is second to none. Also as you'd expect from Audi the bill quality is excellent. What it does like is cruise control it should be standard required this quality. There's also the necessity for mapping certain features like getting the wing mirrors to work automatically when you switch off the engine.
Good looking car with great features. It’s a well built car that holds its value well. The Sportback is a classic design
Excellent car, lovely to drive. Would definitely recommend Audi.
Missing cruise control although mentioned on Car guru website. Other than that the Q3 is a quality car, well built and should achieve 150K miles without a problem.
