Audi Q5 (2025-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Sharp styling | Expensive to buy |
| Practical interior with lots of space | Complex infotainment system |
| Polished driving experience | Average warranty coverage |
Quick Summary
The Audi Q5 (2025-present) is a premium family SUV, known for its upmarket image, sharp styling, and practical interior. This third-generation model offers increased interior space due to a longer wheelbase, accommodating taller passengers comfortably. Available as a standard SUV or a coupe-like Sportback, it does not offer a seven-seater option or a fully electric variant. Engine choices include a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol or 2.0-litre TDI diesel, both with mild-hybrid technology and all-wheel drive, plus a plug-in hybrid e-hybrid with a 60-mile electric range.
The Q5 delivers a polished and satisfying driving experience, particularly with optional air suspension, offering a comfortable ride and well-controlled noise levels for motorway cruising. While the interior boasts a slick, hi-tech affair with quality graphics, the infotainment system can be complex to navigate, requiring drivers to take their eyes off the road for basic functions. Running costs are mitigated by good residual values and respectable fuel economy (37-40mpg petrol, 44-47mpg diesel), though the initial purchase price is high and it incurs luxury car tax.
Best for: Buyers seeking a premium, stylish, and practical family SUV with a refined driving experience, good residual values, and advanced mild-hybrid or plug-in hybrid technology.
Not ideal for: Budget-conscious buyers due to its high purchase price and luxury car tax, those who prefer simpler, less distracting infotainment controls, or those needing a seven-seater vehicle.

The Verdict
You should buy the Q5 if: You're seeking a premium, stylish, and practical family SUV with a refined driving experience, good residual values, and advanced mild-hybrid or plug-in hybrid technology.
Consider alternatives if: You're on a tight budget, prefer simpler infotainment controls, or require a seven-seater vehicle.
Competitive Position: The Audi Q5 (2025-present) maintains its strong position as a desirable premium family SUV. While it faces new competition from more affordable, feature-rich Chinese SUVs, its established reputation for sharp styling, practical interior, polished driving dynamics, and strong residual values ensures it remains a compelling choice. Despite a complex infotainment system and high entry price, the Q5 offers a well-rounded and sophisticated package for those prioritising quality and refinement in the competitive SUV market.

4.3 Overall rating
(20 reviews)This is the car that i wanted it drives very well and looks good on the road
Overall the car is fantastic. Very smooth and quiet drive with the confidence of All Wheel Drive and steep decent assist. The only reason I drop to 4 stars is due to a lack of gadgets and sat nav but some might see that as a benefit as its a straight forward driver.
Fantastic car, great drive, bags of space and comfortable.
The car is exactly what I expected and it was good value for money. I would compare it Jaguar F type, BMW X 3 or the Landrover Discovery Sport or at least these were the SUVs I was looking at.
Already have a Q5 it’s a beautiful drive & has the kind of features that for me makes it an affordable (just) luxury car.
