The Bentley Continental impresses across model years with its luxurious comfort, striking appearance, and remarkable performance. Owners frequently mention the smooth drive and elegant design, making it a favorite for long-distance travel. However, some have raised concerns about the navigation system and fuel economy, noting that while the car excels in many areas, it may not be the most eco-friendly choice. Overall, the Bentley Continental stands out for its combination of style and power, often being described as a beautifully crafted machine that delivers a premium driving experience.

The Bentley Continental is one of the best second hand buys, they are so cheap now. If you buy one just make sure it has a good recent history. Minimum of the last 3 years. The only car that compares is the BMW M5.

All features fabulous; drives like a thoroughbred, looks lovely but a tad thirsty!! Buy one, you'll not regret.

It’s a great car but you need to maintain it really good. Take care of the drain pipe in case you have a sunroof otherwise water will destroy interior! Change Oil every 10000km.

Bentley Continental (2018-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| A huge advance over its predecessor | Such class and quality come at a price |
| Amazing blend of agility and continent-crossing comfort | Extremely high running costs |
| Opulent interior is truly luxurious | A Ferrari 812 Superfast is more exciting to drive |
Quick Summary
The Bentley Continental (2018-present) represents a significant leap forward from its predecessor, sharing its platform with the Porsche Panamera rather than the Volkswagen Phaeton. This new foundation enables the Continental GT to masterfully balance the dynamism of a sports car with the cosseting luxury of a grand tourer. Available with either a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 or a 6.0-litre W12 engine, the Continental GT delivers exceptional performance, with the W12 capable of 207mph. The relocation of the engine further back in the chassis improves weight distribution, making the car more agile and responsive whilst maintaining its comfort credentials.
The Continental GT is one of the most rounded grand tourers available, offering practical accommodation for four adults with a 358-litre boot, opulent hand-stitched leather interiors, and comprehensive technology including a 12.3-inch infotainment system with satellite navigation and Apple CarPlay. However, ownership comes with substantial running costs: fuel economy ranges from 19.1mpg to 23.9mpg depending on specification, whilst servicing, tyres, and Vehicle Excise Duty represent significant ongoing expenses. Despite these costs, the Continental GT remains a brilliantly executed car for those prepared for the financial commitment.
Best for: Buyers seeking the ultimate grand tourer that balances performance with luxury, those who value opulent interiors and advanced technology, and drivers prioritising continent-crossing comfort with engaging handling.
Not ideal for: Budget-conscious buyers, those concerned about fuel economy and running costs, or drivers seeking sharper handling dynamics than a grand tourer can offer.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bentley Continental | 4/5 | 4.4/5 | 38.1% | 4.3/5 |

| Audi A3 | 4/5 | 4.7/5 | 37.3% | 4.4/5 |
| Aston Martin DB11 | 4/5 | 4.7/5 | 37.3% | 4.3/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the Continental if: You seek the ultimate grand tourer balancing performance with luxury, value opulent interiors and advanced technology, and prioritise continent-crossing comfort with engaging handling.
Consider alternatives if: You are budget-conscious, concerned about fuel economy and running costs, or require sharper handling dynamics than a grand tourer offers.
Competitive Position: The Bentley Continental (2018-present) stands as the undisputed master at balancing agility with luxury in the grand tourer segment. Whilst rivals like the Aston Martin DB11 and Ferrari 812 Superfast offer sharper handling, and the Rolls-Royce Wraith provides greater opulence, the Continental GT uniquely excels at marrying both attributes. Its Porsche-derived platform delivers superior dynamics compared to its predecessor, whilst its opulent hand-stitched interior and comprehensive technology suite remain unmatched. However, substantial running costs and lower resale values than historical norms mean ownership requires careful financial consideration. For those prepared for the investment, the Continental GT represents one of the most brilliantly executed cars available today.
