Citroen C3 (2025) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Cool styling inside and out | Entry-level engine not great on pace or refinement |
| Comfy ride | Some ergonomic frustrations |
| Relatively affordable | Bare-minimum warranty arrangement |
Quick Summary
The Citroen C3 (2025) marks a new direction for Citroen's entry-level model, evolving from a traditional hatchback to a slightly raised-up, SUV-like stance. Despite its compact size, it offers surprising interior space and a 310-litre boot. Available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine (98bhp manual) or a hybrid powertrain (108bhp automatic), it's positioned as one of the most affordable new cars in the UK, making it an appealing option for budget-conscious buyers. Its standout feature is its impressive comfort, thanks to Advanced Comfort Suspension.
While neither engine option provides strong performance or high refinement, particularly the noisy entry-level unit, the hybrid offers a more relaxed drive. Running costs are low, with official fuel economy figures up to 59.2mpg for the hybrid, and middling insurance and VED rates. The interior, though featuring hard plastics, boasts a cheerful and stylish design. Equipment levels are generous for the price, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen, but the infotainment system can be difficult to use, and some ergonomic quirks like the square steering wheel are present.
Best for: Drivers on a budget, those seeking a comfortable and practical small car, buyers who appreciate stylish design and low running costs.
Not ideal for: Buyers prioritising strong performance or high refinement, those who expect a sophisticated infotainment system, or require easy rear access for passengers.

The Verdict
You should buy the C3 if: You're on a budget, seeking a comfortable and practical small car, or appreciate stylish design and low running costs.
Consider alternatives if: You prioritise strong performance or high refinement, expect a sophisticated infotainment system, or require easy rear access for passengers.
Competitive Position: The Citroen C3 (2025) presents a compelling option in the budget small car market. Its blend of affordability, distinctive styling, comfortable ride, and surprising practicality for its size makes it stand out. While it doesn't excel in performance or infotainment usability compared to some rivals, its low running costs and generous standard equipment offer significant value. It serves as a strong alternative to options like the Dacia Sandero, offering a more stylish package, and provides a comfortable, budget-friendly choice against more dynamic or premium competitors.

4.3 Overall rating
(12 reviews)Lovely car, economic and quite modern looking. Lovely size for me
had the aircross C3 for 3 years and loved it. But needed something a touch smaller and cheaper, so went for the C3 hatchback. Much the same car. Looks the part, reliable and i hope to get 5/8 years out of it. Dont see why not. Nice drive as well.
Great little car, fully loaded with good useful tech and safety features. For the money I think you would be pushed to beat it. Citroen are always big on comfort and style, this little car doesnt disappoint, Smooth and quiet. Nippy and economical. comfortable on a long journey. Love it.
good value reversing sensors or reverse camera would be a good addition , very good mpg and zero road tax
ideal car for my needs. right size for town or country
