If you need lots of space for a relatively low price, you’ll love the Citroen C5 Aircross. Its huge boot and vast rear seats mean it’s hugely roomy for the cash. Yet it doesn’t feel like a budget buy from inside, with an upmarket dashboard and a well-resolved touchscreen. Trouble is, once you get it out on the road, the noisy engine, hyperactive gearbox and unsettled ride all make it difficult to live with.
