Customers say
The Citroen Grand C4 Picasso is well-regarded for its spacious interior and economical performance, making it an excellent option for larger families. Owners particularly appreciate features like the media system and the reverse parking camera, which enhance driving convenience. However, some drivers have noted that the boot space is smaller than expected, which can be limiting when traveling with a lot of luggage. Overall, it's praised for comfort and practical design, but the limited boot space is a common concern.

Absolutly great car for so many uses, i use it for camoing trios carries everything needed for a complete weekend away, also good for doing booties as all seats drop flat so its almost better than a van but more comfortable. So a versatile allrounder

Citroën Grand C4 Picasso (2013-2020) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Brilliant cabin, with space for seven and lots of clever features | Not as fun to drive as a Ford S-Max |
| Soft suspension delivers a comfortable ride | Steering is overly light and remote |
| Good looking for an MPV | Some owners report electrical faults |
Quick Summary
The Citroën Grand C4 Picasso (2013-2020) is an exceptionally practical seven-seater MPV that prioritises family comfort and versatility. The second-generation model, facelifted in 2016 and renamed the SpaceTourer in 2018, features an intelligently designed interior with a panoramic windscreen, super-skinny pillars for excellent visibility, and a clever three-seat middle row that slides, reclines, and folds individually. The third-row seats stow neatly in the boot floor, and even with all seven seats deployed, there's still usable boot space. A flat floor throughout maximises legroom, whilst extensive cabin storage and under-floor bins add to the practicality.
The ride quality is exceptionally comfortable, with soft suspension that absorbs bumps effectively and excellent noise suppression making long journeys pleasant. Engines are mostly smooth and flexible, with turbodiesel options delivering 50-60mpg on longer runs and the 1.2-litre PureTech petrol offering around 50mpg. Running costs are reasonable, with fixed-price servicing available and insurance groups ranging from 18 to 26. Whilst the light steering and soft suspension mean it's not the most engaging to drive on winding roads, it excels at what it's designed for: comfortable, relaxed family motoring. Even base Touch trim is well equipped with climate control, cruise control, and Bluetooth connectivity.
Best for: Families needing seven seats, those prioritising comfort and practicality over driving dynamics, and buyers seeking excellent value in the MPV segment.
Not ideal for: Drivers wanting engaging handling, those who prefer a more responsive steering feel, or buyers concerned about potential electrical issues.
Comparison vs Key Rivals

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Citroën Grand C4 Picasso | 4/5 | 4.9/5 | 37.3% | 4.3/5 |
| Ford S-Max | 4/5 | 4.8/5 | 34.5% | 4.4/5 |
| Renault Grand Scenic | 4/5 | 5.0/5 | 28.6% | 4.2/5 |
| Seat Alhambra | 5/5 | 5.0/5 | 28.4% | 4.3/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the Grand C4 Picasso if: You're a family needing seven seats, prioritising comfort and practicality over driving dynamics, or seeking excellent value in the MPV segment.
Consider alternatives if: You want engaging handling, prefer responsive steering, or are concerned about potential electrical issues.
Competitive Position: The Citroën Grand C4 Picasso (2013-2020) is an outstanding choice in the seven-seater MPV market, offering exceptional practicality, comfort, and value. Whilst the Seat Alhambra edges ahead on expert and user ratings, the Grand C4 Picasso offers better value deals and a more stylish design. The Ford S-Max provides more engaging driving dynamics, but the Citroën's superior interior space and clever design make it the better choice for families prioritising comfort and versatility. The Renault Grand Scenic is a worthy alternative, though the Citroën's larger cabin and more intelligent seating system give it the edge for those needing maximum flexibility.
