The Geely Starray joins the growing ranks of Chinese-brand SUVs offered in the UK. Others may have more standout styling for immediate on-road recognition, but few offer such a well-rounded package for the money as the Starray. It is roomy, well-equipped, inoffensive to drive and comfortable – and those prices really are low.
The standard plug-in hybrid tech works well, with decent EV ranges and impressive fuel economy once the battery is discharged. The engine could be more refined, but it otherwise serves up an EV-like driving experience, adding to the appeal of a keenly-priced machine with understated appeal.
