Honda CR-V 2026 review | A premium Japanese family SUV
overall

First revealed to the world in 1995, the Honda CR-V has come a long way from its humble beginnings. It has grown physically with every generation, but now Honda is hoping to grow the CR-V’s appeal in the premium SUV segment. That means competing against the likes of Audi and BMW, not just Hyundai and Volkswagen.
This is by far the most upmarket-feeling CR-V there has been. It’s loaded with technology, the materials in the cabin are better than before, and there’s a choice of either hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains. However, it’s also more expensive than ever, which might alienate the people who have bought CR-Vs previously.
