The Kia EV2 is a likeable small electric SUV that looks good, is nice to sit in and impresses in terms of range, comfort and value for money. Being compact on the outside means it doesn’t quite have the rear seat or boot space of some rivals, but it’s still reasonable on both, and it feels more roomy and welcoming than most up front.

Air models have the best range and smoothest ride comfort, but it’s GT-Line models that are likely to attract most British buyers, even if the range and ride do suffer a little. On balance, we’d say the pay-off is worth it, given the GT-Line’s punchier looks, brighter interior and sharper dynamics.
