The Land Rover Discovery is one of the most impressive SUVs on sale today. It has a hugely spacious seven-seat cabin, a large boot with the rear seats folded, excellent towing ability and proper off-road credentials, so it still feels like a real Land Rover, rather than just another luxury SUV with chunky styling.
The Discovery is also comfortable, refined and easygoing on long journeys, especially with one of the six-cylinder diesel engines. However, it’s expensive to buy and run, not especially exciting to drive, and Land Rover’s reliability record remains a serious concern. If you need space, comfort and go-anywhere ability in one package, though, the Discovery is an impressive package.
