MG4 2026 review | Affordable, very likeable electric hatchback

The MG4 was the vehicle that transformed modern-day MG from an outsider into a serious player in the EV sector. Built from the ground up as an electric car, it combines distinctive styling, a spacious cabin and nimble rear-wheel-drive handling – making it surprisingly fun to drive. Since its launch, the lineup has evolved, with longer-range and high-performance versions now forming the heart of the range, while cheaper entry-level cars have given way to the separate MG4 EV Urban hatchback. Even so, the MG4 remains one of the most compelling alternatives to popular EVs such as the __[Volkswagen ID.3](https://www.cargurus.co.uk/research/Volkswagen-ID.3-2020-mg270)__, thanks to strong equipment levels, competitive pricing and an engaging driving experience.

Cons: Compared to a Nissan Leaf the ride is a bit fidgety and not as comfortable. The interior feels dark and rear visibility is compromised. Pros: Very well priced. Plenty of power. Good looks.

Theres nothing really to which you can compare this car. The price, kit , looks and driving pleasure are all there. Even the clean design of the dashboard looks good. Nothing to beat it at the price!
