MG MG5 2020-2025 review | A bargain electric estate car
The MG5 EV is a refreshingly straightforward electric family car that prioritises space, practicality and value for money over image and style. It’s very affordable for EV of this size, yet still offers estate-car practicality, a decent real-world range and fuss-free driving characteristics. The later, facelifted versions provide quicker charging, improved technology and a smarter look, making them more appealing on the used market. For families who are after maximum space and minimum fuss, the MG5 still represents an appealing prospect.

Nice smooth ride, Im not someone who needs to be the first away from the traffic lights but it picks up speed in a smoothly unfussy way and the ride is comfortable.
This is an ideal family estate car which has everything you need except the ability to tow a caravan or a trailer with a nose weight greater than 40 kg
My first drive in an ev and I was impressed. Quiet, comfortable , roomy for an estate car. Easy to drive and lots of acceleration when needed. I bought a 71 pre face lift model with medium range battery as the saving over the new one was huge. Its a very discrete car, it doesnt scream ev from its appearance. It has good load space, decent room for rear passengers and ample range for my journeys unless going a long way on holiday.
