Launched in 2022, the Nissan Ariya had a challenging brief: to follow in the tyre tracks – although not replace – the Nissan Leaf. A fully electric SUV, the Ariya is more than simply a battery-powered Nissan Qashqai; it was the first model on Nissan’s new EV platform. Designed to be quirky and practical in equal measure, the Ariya is decently equipped and offers lively performance. However, it’s also a more middle-of-the-pack contender than we hoped for.
