Nissan Juke Mk2 (2020-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Distinctive looks | Limited powertrain options |
| Classy-feeling interior | Rear headroom slightly tight |
| Competitive boot space | Patchy reliability record |
Quick Summary
The Nissan Juke Mk2 is a stylish small crossover SUV that has made a significant leap forward from its predecessor. With its distinctive eye-catching design, premium-feeling interior featuring soft-touch materials, and improved practicality, it offers a compelling package in the increasingly popular small SUV segment. The cabin is well-appointed with modern technology, including an upgraded 12.3-inch touchscreen from 2024, and provides reasonable legroom for most passengers, though rear headroom may be tight for taller occupants. Boot space of around 420 litres is competitive, though hybrid models sacrifice approximately 70 litres due to battery placement.
Powertrain options include a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with 113bhp and a self-charging petrol-electric hybrid system producing over 140bhp, both offering front-wheel drive. Real-world fuel economy ranges from low 40s mpg for petrol variants to around 50mpg for hybrids. The driving experience is competent rather than thrilling, with a firm ride that can feel slightly jittery on poor surfaces, though handling is neat and steering feedback is pleasant. Running costs are reasonable with fixed-price servicing available, and residual values are competitive with rivals. However, the patchy reliability record and lack of diesel options may concern some buyers.
Best for: Buyers seeking a visually distinctive small SUV with a quality interior, those wanting modern technology and reasonable practicality, and drivers prioritising style and presence on the road.
Not ideal for: Those requiring maximum rear headroom, drivers covering high mileages who prefer diesel engines, or buyers seeking the finest driving dynamics or ultimate reliability.
Comparison vs Key Rivals

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nissan Juke | 3/5 | 4.6/5 | 33.6% | 4.2/5 |

The Verdict
You should buy the Juke if: You prioritise distinctive styling and visual presence, value a classy interior with modern technology, and seek a competent small SUV with reasonable practicality and competitive running costs.
Consider alternatives if: You require maximum rear headroom, prefer diesel engines for high-mileage driving, or prioritise the finest handling and proven reliability records.
Competitive Position: The Nissan Juke Mk2 is a strong contender in the small SUV market, offering unmatched visual distinctiveness and a premium-feeling cabin. Whilst rivals like the Ford Puma excel in driving dynamics and the Renault Captur offers better value, the Juke's combination of style, interior quality, and modern technology makes it an excellent choice for buyers seeking a car that stands out. The 2024 facelift further enhanced its appeal with upgraded infotainment and cabin materials, though potential buyers should factor in the patchy reliability record and limited powertrain options when making their decision.

What people say
Good looks and good value for family use only
The car is great value. The only things does not have is boot hands free close. Also front and back dash board cameras
It seems like a lot of car for the money, it seems to have everything and is quite roomy for a compact vehicle
With the mileage not very high for a 2017 plate & the expected value of miles per gallon it is a good deal. Shame they don’t have parking sensors
High spec inside the car, its got everything i need. Drives well. No complaints so far
