This second-generation Note filled a gap in Nissan’s model line-up, between the Micra and the Juke, offering a supermini with a little more space and practicality. A straightforwardly limited range of engines and some well-specified trim levels gives the Note some real appeal, especially to older buyers, who are less concerned with the rather staid image of the car.

It is well designed and consists of may tried and tested components giving it high reliability and low running & insurance costs. The only down side was that the car has no spare wheel, not even a space saver. However three is a cavity in the boot area to accommodate a spare.

Bought a ten year old diesel (Note 2) Teckna which is very well equipped for its age. Bluetooth, phone and sat nav work fine. The car itself has worn well for 100k and my impressions overall are a good, economical, functional and comfortable second car for not a lot of money. It may not get hearts pumping burning rubber but thats not what it was meant to do. A full panorama sunroof and functional Apple Play would have got it 5* but that was a generation newer and much more £££.
