Great cars. I love Peugeots. I’ve had this age of car and model before & even a CC model. Really good price and condition too. It doesn’t have all the new tech stuff in it though like sat nav, but it does have air con which is a must for me. Comfortable and reliable too in my experience.

Peugeot 207 (2006-2014) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Distinctive good looks | Not as good to drive as a Ford Fiesta |
| Economical petrol and diesel engines | Early models lack Bluetooth |
| Excellent safety standards for a car of this age | If the 207 CC's folding roof fails it's expensive to fix |
Quick Summary
The Peugeot 207 (2006-2014) is an attractive and economical supermini that replaced the 206 in 2006. Available as a three-door or five-door hatchback, an estate (SW), or a stylish convertible (CC), the 207 offers something for different needs. The car grew in size compared to its predecessor, delivering improved practicality and space, though rear legroom remains tight for adults. With a 270-litre boot on the hatchback and 428-litres on the SW estate, it provides reasonable carrying capacity. The 207 earned a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating and came with six airbags as standard, making it a safe choice by the standards of the time.
The 207 drives competently with sharp steering and a supple ride, though it doesn't match the Ford Fiesta for handling engagement. Engine options include economical diesels delivering 55-60mpg in real-world driving, and petrol units achieving around 40-45mpg depending on capacity. The performance-focused GTi variant offers 175bhp and more engaging dynamics, whilst the CC convertible sacrifices practicality for style with its folding metal roof. Running costs are low, with some Economique models exempt from vehicle tax due to sub-100g/km emissions. A 2009 facelift introduced Bluetooth and USB connectivity on later models, though the infotainment system remains basic by modern standards.
Best for: Budget-conscious buyers seeking distinctive styling, economical running costs, and a safe, comfortable supermini for city driving and short family journeys.
Not ideal for: Those prioritising engaging handling, spacious rear seating, or large boot capacity, or buyers wanting the latest technology and connectivity features.
Comparison vs Key Rivals
| Vehicle | CarGurus Expert Rating | CarGurus User Rating | Good/Great deals % | Overall CarGurus Rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Peugeot 207 | 3/5 | 5.0/5 | 27.4% | 4.0/5 |
| Vauxhall Corsa | 3/5 | 4.5/5 | 34.5% | 4.2/5 |
| Ford Fiesta | 4/5 | 4.5/5 | 33.8% | 4.4/5 |
| Volkswagen Polo | 4/5 | 4.5/5 | 35.3% | 4.3/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the 207 if: You value distinctive styling, economical running costs, and a safe, comfortable supermini for city driving and shorter family journeys on a tight budget.
Consider alternatives if: You prioritise engaging handling, spacious rear seating, large boot capacity, or the latest technology and connectivity features.
Competitive Position: The Peugeot 207 (2006-2014) is an attractive and economical choice in the used supermini market, offering distinctive styling and low running costs. However, it faces stiff competition from more accomplished rivals. The Ford Fiesta delivers superior driving dynamics, the Vauxhall Corsa offers better value for money, and the Volkswagen Polo provides a more premium feel. The 207's cramped rear seating and modest boot space also work against it compared to roomier alternatives. Nevertheless, for budget-conscious buyers who appreciate the 207's distinctive looks and can live with its compromises, it remains a sensible and safe choice with economical engines and reasonable practicality, especially in SW estate form.
