Pleasantly surprised on how good it is for the money. Forced out of my Land Rover due to requirements as a wheelchair user and the Allied adapted version is ideal. An extra star would be issued for having front sensors as standard

Peugeot e-Rifter (2022-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Large and very versatile cabin | Forgettable driving experience |
| Long model has space for seven | Lacks the image and style of an SUV |
| Excellent value for money | Diesel and petrol versions no longer available |
Quick Summary
The Peugeot e-Rifter is an electric MPV designed for families who value space, practicality, and easy access over fashion-led appeal. First introduced in 2018, it became the only option for private buyers from 2022 when Peugeot dropped all combustion-engined versions. The e-Rifter uses a 136bhp electric motor paired with a 52kWh battery, delivering an official range of 199 miles, though expect closer to 150 miles in real-world driving. It's offered in two body lengths: the Standard model with five seats and the Long version with up to seven seats, both featuring sliding rear doors for easy access.
Few cars are as practical as the e-Rifter. The Standard five-seat version offers up to 700 litres of boot space, whilst the Long provides 1,050 litres with the third row removed. With middle seats folded, you get a warehouse-rivalling 3,000 litres in the Standard or 3,500 litres in the Long. All versions support rapid charging, with a 0-80% top-up taking around 38 minutes using a suitable public charger. Company car drivers will appreciate the low Benefit-in-Kind rate of just 3%, whilst servicing intervals of 25,000 miles or two years keep maintenance costs down. The electric drive battery is covered for eight years or 100,000 miles.
Best for: Families seeking a zero-emissions MPV for the school run, those prioritising space and practicality over driving dynamics, and company car drivers looking for low running costs.
Not ideal for: Buyers seeking a glamorous or sporty driving experience, those requiring petrol or diesel options, or drivers who regularly undertake long motorway journeys.
Comparison vs Key Rivals

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Peugeot e-Rifter | 4/5 | 4.0/5 | 37.2% | 4.2/5 |
| Ford Tourneo Connect | 3/5 | 5.0/5 | 33.7% | 4.2/5 |
| Citroen Berlingo | 4/5 | 4.6/5 | 37.8% | 4.5/5 |

The Verdict
You should buy the e-Rifter if: You're a family seeking a zero-emissions MPV for the school run, prioritising space and practicality over driving dynamics, or a company car driver looking for low running costs.
Consider alternatives if: You seek a glamorous or sporty driving experience, require petrol or diesel options, or regularly undertake long motorway journeys.
Competitive Position: The Peugeot e-Rifter is a hugely convincing practical electric MPV that offers lots of space for passengers and luggage, easy access via sliding rear doors, and flexibility that most crossovers cannot match. Whilst the electric range is modest by today's standards and the driving experience is forgettable, its low running costs, practicality, and fuss-free charm make it one of the most sensible EVs available. The Citroen Berlingo offers a petrol and diesel alternative with a slightly higher overall rating, whilst the Dacia Jogger provides a budget seven-seat option. The e-Rifter stands out for those specifically seeking an electric MPV solution.
