Porsche Panamera (2024-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Gorgeous interior | Not cheap to buy or run |
| PHEVs can be very affordable to fuel | Others have more space in the back |
| Great balance of comfort and fun | Complex options |
Quick Summary
The Porsche Panamera (2024-present) is a luxury four-door sports-GT that blends refinement, comfort, and handling prowess in a way few rivals can match. This third-generation model offers a range of powertrains, from the 2.9-litre turbocharged V6 to the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, with plug-in hybrid variants providing up to 60 miles of pure electric range. The beautifully finished interior features roomy rear seats with optional heated, ventilated, and massage functions, whilst the 500-litre boot (430-litres in PHEVs) provides practical hatchback versatility. Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, LED Matrix headlights, and the upgraded Porsche Management System with Amazon Alexa and Dolby Atmos audio.
The Panamera excels as a daily driver that doesn't compromise on performance or luxury. The plug-in hybrid variants offer exceptional fuel economy when regularly charged, whilst the optional Porsche Active Ride suspension and rear-axle steering elevate both comfort and manoeuvrability. However, ownership costs are substantial, with steep depreciation, expensive servicing, and premium insurance. The extensive options list can significantly inflate the purchase price, though restraint here allows for a compelling luxury GT without extravagant spending. It's a joy to live with if budget permits.
Best for: Affluent buyers seeking a luxury sports-GT with exceptional comfort and handling, those valuing plug-in hybrid efficiency, and drivers prioritising refinement over practicality.
Not ideal for: Budget-conscious buyers, those needing maximum rear-seat space, or drivers seeking lower running costs and depreciation rates.

The Verdict
You should buy the Panamera if: You're an affluent buyer seeking a luxury sports-GT with exceptional comfort and handling, value plug-in hybrid efficiency, or prioritise refinement over practicality.
Consider alternatives if: You need maximum rear-seat space, seek lower running costs and depreciation, or are budget-conscious about ownership expenses.
Competitive Position: The Porsche Panamera (2024-present) stands apart as the finest luxury four-door sports-GT available, offering a unique blend of refinement, comfort, and handling that rivals cannot match. Whilst the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Audi A8 provide traditional saloon luxury and the Porsche Cayenne offers superior practicality, the Panamera's distinctive character and dynamic capability make it the choice for those prioritising driving engagement alongside opulence. Its plug-in hybrid variants deliver exceptional fuel economy when regularly charged, though ownership costs remain substantial. For discerning drivers willing to invest in premium motoring, the Panamera delivers an unparalleled ownership experience.

4.8 Overall rating
(9 reviews)Very comfortable easy to read dials driving position perfect plenty of legroom in the back great boot space
All round excellence and it is value for money too.
If you want the best then you buy Porsche ..outstrips the XC90, X5,X6, I’ve had them all & the Cayenne is the best by far, bulletproof!!
Little bit expensive for the age car plus high mileage
Personally, it was bigger than I expected. Very much more a saloon car. Apart from that lovely motor. I bought the smaller Taycan
