Skoda Enyaq Pros and Cons

Pros	Cons
Strong value compared with rival electric SUVs	Pre-2025 cars have less generous standard equipment
Excellent passenger space and a large boot	Touchscreen can be slow to respond on earlier models
Comfortable ride and well-judged handling	Sporty vRS version prioritises pace over enjoyment

Quick Summary

The Skoda Enyaq is a fantastic electric family SUV that stands comparison with anything else of a similar size, regardless of power source. Spacious, comfortable, quiet and classy, it offers excellent practicality with a 585-litre boot and limo-like rear passenger space. The 2025 update sharpened the design, improved efficiency and added more standard kit, whilst maintaining the Enyaq's winning formula. Available in standard SUV and sportier Coupe forms, with multiple powertrain options ranging from 187bhp to 335bhp, the Enyaq delivers relaxed, refined driving with impressive range up to 373 miles.

Great value for an electric car with this level of range and practicality, the Enyaq remains one of the best electric family cars you can buy. Strong charging capabilities support DC rapid charging at up to 175kW, delivering 10%-80% charges in under 30 minutes. Company car tax benefits are substantial thanks to low BiK rates, and running costs are typically much lower than petrol or diesel equivalents. Whilst some optional extras are pricey, the Enyaq offers excellent value overall, particularly the entry-level Enyaq 60 which costs much the same as an equivalent petrol Skoda Kodiaq.

Best for: Families seeking a spacious, comfortable and practical electric SUV with excellent range, budget-conscious EV buyers, and company car users looking to maximise tax benefits.

Not ideal for: Those prioritising sporty handling or performance thrills, buyers wanting a seven-seat option, or those seeking a compact electric SUV.

Comparison vs Key Rivals

Consider alternatives if: You prioritise sporty handling or performance thrills, need a seven-seat option, or are seeking a more compact electric SUV.

Competitive Position: The Skoda Enyaq is a fantastic electric family SUV that stands comparison with anything else of a similar size. Whilst the Kia e-Niro and Volkswagen ID.4 offer slightly higher overall CarGurus ratings and better deal availability, the Enyaq matches or exceeds them in expert ratings and delivers superior practicality and space. Its strong value proposition, comfortable ride, well-judged handling and excellent charging capabilities make it one of the best electric family cars available. The 2025 update further strengthened its position, improving efficiency and adding more standard equipment whilst maintaining affordability.
