Quick Summary
The Skoda Karoq (2017-present), launched in 2017 and updated in 2022/2024, is a highly practical and comfortable SUV designed to slot between the Kamiq and Kodiaq. It offers a raised driving position and exceptional interior space, with excellent headroom and legroom for all passengers. Boot capacity is generous, ranging from 521 litres with standard seats to 588 litres with the Varioflex system, which can expand to a massive 1,810 litres when seats are removed. The Karoq majors on refinement and comfort, making it a very good family car.
Engine options include efficient 1.0-litre (114bhp) and 1.5-litre (148bhp) petrol units, alongside a 2.0-litre (187bhp) petrol with four-wheel drive, and a 2.0-litre (148bhp) diesel. Fuel economy is competitive, with petrols achieving around 44-48mpg and the diesel 44-49mpg. The Karoq boasts a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating and a long list of standard equipment, including front parking sensors, a rearview camera, and heated seats, with higher trims adding larger infotainment screens and adaptive cruise control. Servicing costs are reasonable, with various plans available.
Best for: Families seeking a very roomy, practical, and comfortable SUV; drivers prioritising safety and standard equipment; those who appreciate clever, user-friendly features and good value.
Not ideal for: Buyers looking for a sporty or dynamic driving experience; those who require hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain options; individuals preferring a more distinctive or exciting design.

5 Overall rating
(7 reviews)Quality interior, good drive, nice gearbox, smooth engine and quiet.
Very similar to my Yeti. 4x4 Great comfort front and back. Good luggage space. Reliable engineering. Excellent level of trim .
I think this car is good value, I loved the low mileage. The features are amazing such as letting you know what gear you can change to depending how quick or slow you are driving. Love the gadgets in the boot such as handles for hanging your takeaways on, little borders in the boot to create a column in your car to stop things from sliding around or to stand a pot of paint up right. There are loads of clever features. The interior is lovely, just perfect for me. I wasnt interested in any other models.
I am really enjoying owning and driving the Skoda Karoq 1.5 TSI SE. Good value and the one I bought had a very good (as in low) mileage. I would have liked a rear camera but the parking pilot sensors do a good enough job helping with reversing safely. Great value and I couldnt stop smiling whilst driving it across to the other side of the country to visit family the day after I had bought it! Impressed with CarGurus too!
Lovely car. Lot’s of useful features. Enjoyable ride.
