Customers say
The Skoda Superb consistently impresses owners with its spacious interior and overall value, often being compared to more expensive brands like Audi and Mercedes. Its powerful engine and smooth driving experience, bolstered by the DSG gearbox, are typically highlighted as standout features. However, some owners feel that it can be slightly overpriced and have raised concerns about visible scratches and the need for brake replacements in certain models.

Reliable robust vehicle, spectacular inside with many extras as standard. Owned one of these before, never broke, just normal running costs, amazing on fuel.

Skoda Superb (2025-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Outstanding interior space and practicality | Interior design and quality don't match premium rivals |
| Well-equipped across all trims | A BMW 5 Series is more enjoyable to drive |
| Comfortable ride and very refined | Reduced boot space in the plug-in hybrid |
Quick Summary
The Skoda Superb is one of the most accomplished and practical large family cars available. Now in its fourth generation, it offers exceptional interior space with a 625-litre boot in hatchback form and 660 litres in the estate, rivalling many SUVs at a significantly lower price. The Superb combines generous passenger accommodation with a comprehensive range of engines, including petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid options, all paired with a smooth DSG automatic gearbox. Well-equipped across all trim levels, it features a 13.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, and Skoda's intuitive Smart Dials as standard.
The Superb prioritises comfort and refinement over dynamic handling, making it ideal for long-distance cruising with excellent sound insulation and suspension that smooths out rough roads. The 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol with mild hybrid delivers around 50mpg, whilst the 2.0-litre diesel offers superior efficiency at approximately 55mpg. For those seeking more performance, a 261bhp turbocharged petrol is available, and the plug-in hybrid estate provides over 70 miles of electric range with low CO2 emissions. It represents outstanding value, offering more space and equipment than premium-badged rivals at a considerably lower price.
Best for: Families and long-distance drivers seeking maximum space, comfort, and value; those prioritising practicality and refinement over dynamic handling; company car drivers considering the plug-in hybrid for tax benefits.
Not ideal for: Buyers seeking premium interior quality or badge appeal; those wanting an engaging, sporty driving experience; drivers requiring a manual transmission option.

The Verdict
You should buy the Superb if: You're seeking maximum space and practicality, prioritising comfort and refinement for long-distance driving, or wanting outstanding value compared to premium-badged rivals.
Consider alternatives if: You desire premium interior quality and badge appeal, seek an engaging and sporty driving experience, or require a manual transmission option.
Competitive Position: The Skoda Superb stands out as the strongest value proposition in the large family car segment. It offers more interior space and practicality than the Volkswagen Passat, Peugeot 508, and Audi A6 Avant, whilst maintaining competitive pricing and excellent equipment levels. With a five-star expert rating and strong user satisfaction, the Superb delivers exceptional comfort, refinement, and versatility. Whilst the Audi and Peugeot may offer more premium interiors, the Superb's superior practicality, comprehensive engine range, and outstanding value make it the sensible choice for families and long-distance drivers who prioritise space and comfort over badge prestige.
