An excellent car, really comfortable drive, great suspension, awesome boot space- can fit a double mattress with seat down! 4x4 function is better than the Vitara!. And its economical too :)

The vehicle was well equipped which I liked, I would compare it to the Mitsubishi ASX

The car appears to be robust and sound although the other items of interior may match with sister SUVs.

Suzuki S-Cross (2021-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Very keenly priced | Big jump in price between Motion and Ultra spec |
| Loaded with luxury and safety kit | Some rivals have longer warranties |
| Excellent 1.4-litre petrol engine | Only adequate ride and handling |
Quick Summary
The Suzuki S-Cross (2021-present) is a comprehensively reworked midsize family SUV that addresses many of its predecessor's shortcomings. The latest incarnation features a smarter appearance, improved interior quality, decent practicality with a 430-litre boot, and a more civilised driving experience. It comes well-stocked with luxury and safety kit across both Motion and Ultra trim levels, including automatic LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.
The S-Cross is aggressively priced compared with rivals, offering impressive value for money. The 1.4-litre Boosterjet turbo engine delivers 127bhp with bullish pulling power and smooth operation, whilst the mild hybrid powertrain achieves around 53mpg in the manual Motion model. Whilst the ride and handling are merely adequate rather than exceptional, and rear headroom can be limited, the S-Cross now presents a far more compelling alternative in the crowded midsize SUV sector. It's a sensible choice for families seeking excellent equipment and affordability without compromising on practicality.
Best for: Budget-conscious buyers seeking a well-equipped family SUV, those prioritising value for money and standard safety features, and families needing practical space without premium pricing.
Not ideal for: Buyers seeking the finest handling dynamics, those requiring maximum rear headroom, or those wanting to avoid the significant price jump between Motion and Ultra specifications.
Comparison vs Key Rivals

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Suzuki S-Cross | 4/5 | 4.4/5 | 33.6% | 4.2/5 |
| Kia Sportage | 4/5 | 4.4/5 | 34.2% | 4.3/5 |
| Nissan Qashqai | 4/5 | 4.6/5 | 34.6% | 4.4/5 |
| Hyundai Tucson | 4/5 | 4.8/5 | 33.7% | 4.5/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the S-Cross if: You're budget-conscious and seeking a well-equipped family SUV, prioritising value for money and standard safety features, or needing practical space without premium pricing.
Consider alternatives if: You seek the finest handling dynamics, require maximum rear headroom, or wish to avoid the significant price jump between Motion and Ultra specifications.
Competitive Position: The Suzuki S-Cross (2021-present) is a compelling midsize family SUV that competes well on value and equipment. Whilst it doesn't match the Nissan Qashqai or Hyundai Tucson for user ratings, or the Hyundai Tucson for overall CarGurus rating, the S-Cross offers aggressive pricing and excellent standard kit that rivals struggle to match. Its practical design, efficient 1.4-litre engine, and comprehensive safety features make it an excellent choice for families seeking sensible value. The S-Cross may not be the class leader, but its appealing blend of affordability, equipment, and practicality makes it a strong contender for budget-conscious buyers.
