There’s no quantifiable reason for picking the Volkswagen Beetle over the Golf it’s based on, other than you like - and more likely, love - how it looks with its retro style. And there’s nothing wrong with that at all. A gloriously happy car, which brightens up our roads immeasurably, the last Beetle rolled out of VW’s factory in 2019. Off to the used classifieds if you want one, then.
