This has everything. Economical, great spec and stylish also. A beautiful drive.

Test drove the Golf R in stock specification and was really impressed with how much the interior and drive has been improved since the last model. The car has retained its USP of driveable power whilst being versatile for commute/family life. Apart from performance I was most impressed with how well the car drives normally in Comfort mode and how nice the seats are you could easily do a long commute each day in this which is more than I can as for my old TT quattro. I have ordered a Golf R in Lapiz Blue with Performance Pack as I think it gives the car a more sporty look. The ride was comfortable enough for me without the Dynamic Chassis Control option and the exhaust made more than enough pops and bangs without the pricey Acrapovic option. My only niggle is the rear camera wasnt standard seems a bit mean these days but all the R rivals are similar.

Well I had an M135i that I purchased last November. I have driven to the moon and back on BMWs and always been very impressed. These were mostly 3 series and I also had a v. low mileage Z4. The 135i was the biggest POS I have ever driven and the dealership, arrogant, about as customer-facing as a 1900s doctors receptionist and the whole experience terrible. The car was about as engaging to drive as a blancmange and the number of issues with it, significant. At 12,000 miles it needed all the brake pads replacing; I bought it with under 10,000 on the clock. Anyway I am delighted to say this example of TRM no longer occupies my driveway and a VW Golf 8 GTi, DSG registered in March now does. Chalk and cheese - a car that invites you to get involved with driving it, is clearly screwed together properly (the TRMs brakes groaned and moaned and it wouldnt reliably interface with my nano pod, which my old Gti and my 718 do, without any fuss. And the blind spot alert feature in the wing mirrors is very good on the VW.. Its like comparing a computer with wheels to a drivers car
