This is the 2026 Audi Q7, the third generation of the brand’s largest SUV. It’s new from the ground up, featuring a bolder look and more advanced tech than its predecessor, and it goes on sale this summer.
Here’s everything we know about the 2026 Audi Q7.
2026 Audi Q7: Price, Specs and Release Date

2026 Audi Q7: styling and dimensions
Audi has reinvented the Q7 for its third generation, giving it a sleek yet imposing exterior design. Out goes the ‘pumped-up estate car’ vibes of the current Q7 and in comes a more upright profile that’s similar to that of other luxury SUVs such as the BMW X5 and Volvo XC90.
Compared with the outgoing Q7, the new model has a higher, less sloping roofline and a more vertical rear end for what Audi calls ‘commanding proportions’. Bulging wheelarches and pronounced ‘shoulders’ give a more muscular stance overall.
Many of the individual styling elements are familiar from Audi’s other SUVs, including the huge front grille, split headlights and full-width rear light bar. It’s clearly an evolution of Audi’s current design language, rather than the more minimalist look previewed by the forward-looking Concept C and the recently revealed Nuvolari supercar.
While it’s certainly bolder than the current model, the new Q7 isn’t any bigger. In fact, the 2026 version is slightly shorter and about the same width, although the elevated roofline makes it a few millimeters taller than before.

2026 Audi Q7: interior design and practicality
As with its exterior, the interior of the new Q7 has similar design themes to its other SUVs. That means large display screens and a minimum of traditional buttons. The ‘Audi MMI panoramic display' dominates the dashboard. There are three screens in total – two forming the main display and one for the front passenger.
Compared with both the outgoing Q7 and Audi's other models, the new Q7 has a greater emphasis on luxury, with some very fancy interior lighting and plush-looking materials. The images released so far show some very appealing 'fine grain ash natural' inlays and centre console trim, although other options will be available.
Options include a panoramic roof that can be switched from opaque to transparent, as well as a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system with 4D sound. How does it improve on the current car's 3D sound system? Well, there are 'actuators' in the front seats – these vibrate so that you feel, as well as hear, your favourite tunes.
Thanks to its higher roofline, the 2026 Q7 is expected to be even more spacious than the current car. Seven seats are standard, with each of them featuring electric adjustment. Boot space is 581 litres in five-seat mode and 1,980 litres in two-seat mode – not class-leading but still pretty cavernous.

2026 Audi Q7: engines and driving dynamics
Initially, just one engine will be available – a new 3.0-litre diesel that produces 295bhp. It features Audi's latest mild hybrid technology and, unusually, it allows the Q7 to drive for short distances (at low speed) using electric power alone. Four-wheel drive, air suspension, four-wheel steering and an eight-speed automatic gearbox are standard.
There's no official confirmation, but petrol and plug-in hybrid versions are likely to be added soon after the Q7 goes on sale. A high-performance SQ7 model is also likely to be added. The current version has a mighty 500bhp, and the new model is expected to top this.

2026 Audi Q7: price and release date
The new Audi Q7 will go on sale in July 2026, with first customer deliveries expected in September. Audi says the starting price will be 'below £82,000' – quite a jump considering the current model starts at just over £72,000 with a diesel engine.
Full UK specification is due to be announced during the summer, but even the entry-level model is likely to be lavishly equipped.
If you want more space than even the Q7 can offer, it might be worth holding out for the new Audi Q9. This new addition to Audi’s range will be its largest ever. It’s essentially a longer version of the new Q7, due on sale later in 2026.
