Peugeot has updated its 308 hatchback and 308 SW estate models for 2025, with a revised exterior design and technical tweaks for pure-electric models that have boosted battery range. On sale from autumn 2025, prices for the updated Peugeot 308 are expected to be in line with those of the outgoing model.
Here’s what we know so far about the 2025 Peugeot 308.

2025 Peugeot 308: styling and dimensions
Visual changes for the 2025 Peugeot 308 are limited mainly to the front of the car, with a new bumper, lights and grille that give it an even sharper look than before. The Peugeot emblem is now illuminated on high-spec models and there’s a new ‘split headlight’ design, with the dipped-beam lights at the top and the full-beam lights moved lower down the bumper. The higher-mounted lights have a new ‘three-claw’ light signature and appear to flow into a slim ‘grille’ that gives the front of the 308 a more horizontal emphasis.
The redesigned front bumper includes side intakes that guide airflow to boost aerodynamic efficiency; Peugeot says the new look contributes to improved fuel efficiency or battery range, depending on power source.
At the rear, all versions (rather than just high-spec models) now have tail lights with a three-claw LED signature that mirrors those at the front. The only other external changes are new alloy wheel designs and the choice of a new 'Lagoa Blue' colour option for hatchback models.
2025 Peugeot 308: interior design and practicality
If you were already a fan of the 308’s futuristic interior design the good news is that nothing has changed with the update, other than the introduction of new 3D graphics for the instrument display of GT Premium models (and as an option for GT trim).
As before, the 308 features Peugeot’s ‘i-Cockpit’ layout, where you look over – rather than through – the steering wheel to see the driver display. A large centre touchscreen is supplemented by five ‘i-Toggle’ switches beneath it that allow you to create shortcuts for various functions.
Interior space and boot space haven’t changed, with the 308 SW once again offering more of both thanks to its longer wheelbase and bulkier bodywork at the rear.
2025 Peugeot 308: engines and driving dynamics
There are no major changes for the 2025 Peugeot 308 in terms of technical spec, so there’s a choice of self-charging hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains that combine petrol and electric power sources, a pure-electric version (called E-308) and, in hatchback form only, a 1.5-litre diesel.
The plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model gains a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission as part of an upgrade that boosts its pure-electric range by 12 miles to 53 miles (for both hatchback and 308 SW models). The E-308 gains extra battery range, with an official maximum of 281 miles for hatchback models (an improvement of 23 miles) and 275 miles for 308 SW models (a 21-mile increase) thanks to battery and efficiency tweaks and the more aerodynamic front end.
2025 Peugeot 308: price and release date
The updated Peugeot 308 and 308 SW models are due to arrive in the UK in autumn 2025. Peugeot hasn’t released pricing details but there’s likely to be little change from the outgoing model, which ranges from about £33,000-£41,000 for the hatchback. Prices for equivalent 308 SW models are approximately £1,500 higher.
Trim levels have been confirmed as Allure and GT, as before, with a new GT Premium trim sitting at the top of the range.
