I have been in love with this car since it first came out, and I prefer these older shape cars, so pure, not like a spaceship, so much car for £30k, I am only 5ft seven so it doesn't feel too big or intimidating, looks fabulous from any angle and drives like a dream

Aston Martin Vantage (2018-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Easy to live with – an everyday supercar | Hugely expensive to buy and run |
| The 503bhp twin-turbo V8 is mighty | Not quite as thrilling as its predecessor |
| Choice of coupe and roadster models | Controversial looks |
Quick Summary
The Aston Martin Vantage (2018-present) represents a significant departure from its predecessor, prioritising everyday usability over raw driving engagement. This modern iteration features a Mercedes-AMG sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 503bhp and 505lb ft of torque, delivering impressive performance with 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds for the coupe and 3.7 seconds for the roadster. The car offers a choice of seven-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmissions, with the latter providing superior acceleration figures. A limited-edition V12 variant was introduced in 2022, producing 690bhp and achieving 0-62mph in just 3.4 seconds.
Whilst the new Vantage is objectively faster and more fuel-efficient than its predecessor, it sacrifices some of the old car's visceral appeal and communicative driving experience. The electrically assisted steering and turbocharged powertrain lack the raw engagement of the naturally aspirated engines of old. However, it remains the most usable sports car Aston Martin has ever built, with a practical boot and improved daily drivability. Running costs are substantial, with real-world fuel economy closer to 22mpg and insurance group 50 commanding premium rates. Servicing costs should be budgeted at approximately £1,000 annually after the five-year service plan expires.
Best for: Buyers seeking a practical, everyday supercar with impressive performance and the prestige of the Aston Martin badge, and those who value usability alongside thrilling acceleration.
Not ideal for: Budget-conscious buyers, those prioritising low running costs, or drivers seeking the raw, communicative driving experience of the previous-generation Vantage.

The Verdict
You should buy the Vantage if: You seek a practical, everyday supercar with impressive performance and the prestige of the Aston Martin badge, and value usability alongside thrilling acceleration.
Consider alternatives if: You are budget-conscious, prioritise low running costs, or desire the raw, communicative driving experience of the previous-generation Vantage.
Competitive Position: The Aston Martin Vantage (2018-present) is a compelling choice in the premium sports car segment, offering exceptional user satisfaction with a 5.0 out of 5 rating. Whilst the BMW 8 Series edges ahead with a marginally higher overall CarGurus rating and better value proposition, the Vantage distinguishes itself through superior everyday usability and the iconic Aston Martin heritage. The Jaguar F-Type provides a comparable alternative with strong user ratings, whilst the Audi R8 offers expert-level performance credentials. The Vantage's strength lies in its balance of practicality, performance, and prestige, making it the most accessible Aston Martin supercar for daily driving.
