The Ford Fiesta consistently stands out for its sleek design, reliability, and value for money across all model years. Owners appreciate its spacious feel and low running costs, making it a great option for budget-conscious drivers. However, some are let down by its lack of power compared to larger vehicles, and a few mention a desire for more cargo space.

This car (titanium model) was bought for my granddaughter and it is perfect for her. Despite it's age the car runs extremely well and is fully loaded with all sorts of goodies e.g. automatic running lights, auto wipers, remote locking, blue tooth, phone link and when you switch off lights come on in the footwells etc I think the car is great value and we are very pleased with it.

Just a shame it didn’t have reversing camera and a spare wheel or tyre repair kit included. Otherwise a nice neat tidy car with good audio equipment. Included.

I bought the car from Appleby Moyors upgrading from my previous 2004 Fiesta. I have only had it 5 days but I am quite happy, it is clean, handles and drives well and is low mileage. This was exactly what I wanted for my needs

Ford Fiesta Mk6 (2008-2017) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Comfortable and entertaining drive | Not quite as reliable as a Hyundai i20 |
| Excellent Ecoboost engines | Underpowered entry-level 1.25-litre engine |
| Low fuel and insurance bills | So-so build quality |
Quick Summary
The Ford Fiesta Mk6 (2008-2017) is a supermini that combines practicality with an exceptional driving experience. With a 290-litre boot—one of the largest in its class—and 60/40 split-folding rear seats, it offers genuine versatility for small families. The cabin is logically laid out with good storage, though interior materials feel less premium than some rivals. Five-door models provide easier rear access, whilst three-door versions feature wide-opening doors and adjustable front seats for convenience.
What truly sets the Fiesta apart is its dynamic brilliance. The suspension delivers a perfect balance of comfort and agility, whilst the taut body control, strong grip, and pin-sharp steering make it engaging in bends yet stable on motorways. The range includes excellent Ecoboost petrol engines and efficient diesels capable of 65-70mpg in real-world driving. The ST hot hatch variant offers genuine performance thrills. Running costs are impressively low, with many models qualifying for zero road tax and insurance groups typically below 20. Service intervals are straightforward at 12,500 miles or annually, with repairs generally affordable.
Best for: Drivers seeking an engaging, comfortable supermini with excellent value, families wanting practicality without compromise, and enthusiasts looking for an affordable hot hatch (ST).
Not ideal for: Buyers prioritising maximum reliability or premium interior quality, or those requiring the roomiest rear cabin in the class.

The Verdict
You should buy the Fiesta if: You value an engaging, comfortable drive, seek excellent value for money, want low running costs, or are looking for an affordable hot hatch (ST).
Consider alternatives if: You prioritise maximum reliability, premium interior quality, or require the roomiest rear cabin in the class.
Competitive Position: The Ford Fiesta Mk6 (2008-2017) is a standout in the supermini market, offering a rare combination of dynamic driving pleasure and practical family-car credentials. Whilst the Skoda Fabia edges ahead on user ratings and value deals, and the Volkswagen Polo offers more premium appeal, the Fiesta's superior driving dynamics and lower running costs make it the choice for enthusiasts and budget-conscious buyers alike. It outshines the Vauxhall Corsa in both expert and user ratings, delivering a more engaging and entertaining ownership experience. For those seeking the best balance of fun, practicality, and affordability, the Fiesta remains a compelling choice.
