Honda Jazz Mk4 (2020-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Space and clever seating make the Jazz very practical | Rivals from Renault and Toyota have longer warranties |
| Slick infotainment system | Not as much fun to drive as a Ford Fiesta |
| Expect very good reliability | Noisy petrol engine and CVT combo |
Quick Summary
The Honda Jazz Mk4 (2020-present) continues its legacy as a compact car with MPV-like practicality, offering exceptional space and clever 'magic seats' for versatile load carrying. With a 304-litre boot capacity, it stands out as one of the most practical and versatile superminis available, making it ideal for those prioritising interior room and functionality over a chic exterior.
Easy to drive, especially in urban environments, the Jazz features a quiet hybrid powertrain at low speeds. While the engine can become noisy under harder acceleration due to the CVT gearbox, it provides sufficient power for all driving conditions and maintains good suspension composure. It's well-equipped across its trim levels, delivers good real-world MPG, and offers reasonable running costs, making it a sensible and reliable choice for daily use.
Best for: Drivers prioritising practicality, space, and versatility in a small car; families or individuals needing clever seating and ample boot space; those seeking a reliable and economical hybrid for urban and motorway driving.
Not ideal for: Buyers who want an exciting or sporty driving experience (like a Ford Fiesta); those sensitive to engine noise under acceleration; individuals prioritising the lowest possible running costs or company car tax over interior space.

The Verdict
You should buy the Honda Jazz if: You prioritise practicality, space, and versatility in a small car, need clever seating for bulky loads or adult passengers, and want a reliable and economical hybrid for daily driving.
Consider alternatives if: You're looking for an exciting or sporty driving experience, are sensitive to engine noise under acceleration, or prioritise the absolute lowest running costs or company car tax over interior space.
Competitive Position: The Honda Jazz Mk4 stands out in the supermini segment for its unrivalled practicality, clever 'magic seats', and spacious interior, making it a highly versatile choice. While it may not offer the dynamic driving thrills of a Ford Fiesta, its economical hybrid powertrain, ease of driving, and strong reliability make it a sensible and compelling option for those who value functionality and space above all else.
