Hyundai i10 (2020-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Very practical for such a small car | Entry-level cars lack Apple CarPlay or Android Auto |
| Economical and well equipped | No three-door version available |
| Generous five-year unlimited mileage warranty | Not as much fun to drive as a Seat Ibiza |
Quick Summary
The Hyundai i10 (2020-present) is a smart, compact supermini that delivers exceptional practicality for its size. Despite its diminutive exterior, it offers surprising interior space with comfortable seating for five, a 252-litre boot expandable to 1,050 litres with the rear seats folded, and thoughtful storage solutions throughout. The well-designed dashboard features an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and higher trims include wireless phone charging and heated seats. Available exclusively as a five-door, it combines excellent visibility, supportive seats, and a comfortable driving position to create a genuinely usable everyday runabout.
On the road, the i10 strikes an impressive balance between comfort and composure, dismissing potholes whilst remaining well-behaved through corners. The light steering makes town driving effortless, whilst the precise inputs inspire confidence on country roads. Choose from three petrol engines: the entry-level 1.0-litre MPi, the more flexible 1.2-litre MPi, or the punchy 99bhp turbocharged 1.0-litre T-GDi available in the N Line trim. Fuel economy is excellent across the range, with the 1.0-litre manual returning 56.5mpg and the 1.2-litre achieving 55.4mpg. Backed by Hyundai's excellent five-year unlimited mileage warranty and breakdown cover, the i10 represents outstanding value as both a new and used purchase.
Best for: Budget-conscious buyers seeking a practical, economical, and well-equipped city car; families needing a hassle-free runabout; and those prioritising reliability and peace of mind with comprehensive warranty coverage.
Not ideal for: Drivers wanting a three-door option, those seeking sportier handling dynamics, or buyers requiring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on entry-level models.

What people say
I bought the 1.2 ltr SE model which is plenty nippy enough for me. I dont need Alloys, Heated seats, or Sat Nav. I would have liked rear parking sensors, but as it is a small car this is not a problem. It has a good all round view and is not difficult to park. I It is more roomy than other cars in this class like the Skoda Citigo or the VW UP. It is also less expensive, but holds its value pretty well. I choose an automatic which has a very smooth gear change, unlike the Skoda Citigo, which was extremely jerky. The only car I thought was better was the Ford Fiesta, but in my opinion was very overpriced.
I am very happy with the car. It drives well for a 1.2 and is comfortable. We have a 4 door but space in back of the car and in the boot is very small. But this car suits our needs very well.
Good condition: Body work, Interior, mechanically. Meets our requirements for a second vehicle at a price tag which, in or onion was great value for the condition and mileage. Our previous experience with the Hyundai Brand has been excellent so did no compare other brands in our decision.
Excellent car. Very nippy. Lots of features on the car which is typical of Hyundai way ahead of time
I have been looking for a smallish car and the Hyundai i10 was just perfect size as I am a woman driver easy to drive good insurance cheap tax very good value and the price of the car was perfect for me.
