Great car and customer service from Blackdown 4x4 centre. The car was presented in very good condition , only let down was the hole in the rubber mat on drivers side which was covered by the paper foot mat.

Excellent features on the Evoque, drives very nice, not as harsh as my previous vehicle. Controls easy to work. Everything to hand for the driver. The Heads up is new to me, but a fantastic feature to have. Overall very pleased with the vehicle.

Land Rover Range Rover Evoque (2019-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| More affordable than a large Range Rover | Be wary of Land Rover's reliability record |
| Comfortable ride on standard or optional adaptive suspension | Not as sporty to drive as the first-gen Evoque |
| Low running costs of plug-in hybrid | Some rivals are roomier |
Quick Summary
The Range Rover Evoque (2019-present) is a stylish and luxurious compact SUV that delivers Range Rover levels of sophistication at a more accessible price point. The second-generation model features modernised sleek styling with innovative details like flush door handles, complemented by a range of petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid engines. Inside, the minimalistic design draws inspiration from the larger Range Rover Velar, with dual touchscreens on higher trims offering slick infotainment and vehicle controls. Whilst the sloping roof and rising window line create a striking exterior, they do compromise rear headroom and visibility, though a clever ClearSight camera system can help. The 591-litre boot is practical rather than vast, and rear seats don't fold completely flat.
The Evoque excels as a capable all-terrain machine, offering a more grown-up, wafty driving experience than its predecessor whilst maintaining excellent off-road credentials. Mild hybrid systems help reduce fuel consumption, and the plug-in hybrid option provides low running costs for those with regular charging access. Diesel models, particularly the front-wheel-drive D150, deliver around 45mpg and represent the most economical choice. Whilst not the cheapest premium SUV to buy or run, strong resale values help offset higher fuel and servicing costs. Insurance groups range from 26 to 39, and fixed-price service plans are available. Overall, the Evoque combines desirability, comfort, and capability, making it a sound financial choice for those prioritising style and versatility.
Best for: Buyers seeking a stylish, luxurious compact SUV with Range Rover appeal, those wanting capable off-road performance, and drivers considering plug-in hybrid technology for lower running costs.
Not ideal for: Those prioritising maximum interior space, buyers concerned about Land Rover's reliability record, or those seeking the sportiest driving dynamics in the compact SUV segment.
Comparison vs Key Rivals

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Range Rover Evoque | 4/5 | 4.3/5 | 35.3% | 4.3/5 |
| Audi Q3 | 4/5 | 4.3/5 | 33.9% | 4.3/5 |
| Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class | 4/5 | 5.0/5 | 35.3% | 4.4/5 |
| Volvo XC40 | 4/5 | 4.6/5 | 34.6% | 4.5/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the Evoque if: You're seeking a stylish, luxurious compact SUV with Range Rover appeal, want capable off-road performance, or are considering plug-in hybrid technology for lower running costs.
Consider alternatives if: You prioritise maximum interior space, are concerned about Land Rover's reliability record, or seek the sportiest driving dynamics in the compact SUV segment.
Competitive Position: The Range Rover Evoque (2019-present) is a highly desirable compact SUV that combines striking styling with genuine off-road capability and Range Rover luxury at a more accessible price. Whilst rivals like the Volvo XC40 and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class offer competitive user ratings and overall CarGurus ratings, the Evoque's distinctive design and capable all-terrain credentials set it apart. However, prospective buyers should carefully consider Land Rover's reliability reputation and compare practicality with roomier alternatives. Strong resale values and plug-in hybrid options make it a sound financial choice for style-conscious buyers willing to invest in premium brand appeal and versatility.
