Great car and customer service from Blackdown 4x4 centre. The car was presented in very good condition , only let down was the hole in the rubber mat on drivers side which was covered by the paper foot mat.

Excellent features on the Evoque, drives very nice, not as harsh as my previous vehicle. Controls easy to work. Everything to hand for the driver. The Heads up is new to me, but a fantastic feature to have. Overall very pleased with the vehicle.

Range Rover Evoque (2019-Present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| More affordable than a large Range Rover | Land Rover's reliability record is a concern |
| Comfortable ride on standard or adaptive suspension | Not as sporty to drive as the first-generation Evoque |
| Plug-in hybrid can be cheap to run if charged regularly | Some rivals are roomier |
Quick Summary
The Range Rover Evoque (2019-present) is a stylish and luxurious compact premium SUV that delivers Range Rover class and sophistication at a more accessible price point. The second-generation model retains the original's stunning coupe-like profile whilst adding smoother styling, a more upmarket interior, and modern Range Rover touches including flush door handles. With a reasonable 591-litre boot expanding to 1,383 litres with rear seats folded, it offers practical everyday space, though the sloping roofline does compromise rear headroom and visibility for taller passengers.
The Evoque provides a comfortable, grown-up driving experience with good ride quality and surprising off-road capability, particularly in four-wheel-drive versions. Engine options include petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid variants, with the latter offering the lowest running costs if charged regularly. The cabin feels classy and upmarket with modern infotainment systems, though insurance and servicing costs are premium. Strong desirability should help values remain relatively healthy, making it a solid choice for those prioritising style, comfort, and Range Rover prestige over outright practicality or sportiness.
Best for: Buyers seeking premium style and Range Rover heritage, company car drivers (especially plug-in hybrid versions), and those who value comfort and upmarket interiors over maximum space or driving excitement.
Not ideal for: Budget-conscious buyers, those concerned about Land Rover reliability, drivers needing maximum boot space, or those seeking sporty handling characteristics.
Comparison vs Key Rivals
| Vehicle | CarGurus Expert Rating | CarGurus User Rating | Good/Great deals % | Overall CarGurus Rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Range Rover Evoque | 4/5 | 4.3/5 | 51.7% | 4.4/5 |
| Volvo XC40 | 4/5 | 4.6/5 | 39.1% | 4.5/5 |
| Audi Q3 | 4/5 | 4.3/5 | 37.7% | 4.3/5 |
| BMW X2 | 3/5 | 4.4/5 | 32.9% | 4.2/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the Evoque if: You value premium style and Range Rover heritage, are a company car driver (especially with plug-in hybrid), or prioritise comfort and upmarket interiors over maximum space or driving excitement.
Consider alternatives if: You are budget-conscious, concerned about Land Rover reliability, need maximum boot space, or seek sporty handling characteristics.
Competitive Position: The Range Rover Evoque (2019-present) is a highly desirable premium compact SUV that stands out for its striking styling and Range Rover prestige. Whilst the Volvo XC40 offers slightly better user ratings and the Audi Q3 provides comparable quality, the Evoque's superior value score (51.7%) and strong overall rating (4.4/5) demonstrate its appeal. However, potential buyers should weigh the premium running costs and Land Rover reliability concerns against its undeniable style, comfort, and the excellent value proposition of plug-in hybrid versions. For those prioritising badge appeal and design, the Evoque remains a compelling choice in a competitive segment.
