Yes the car was good value. It has the added advantage of having a retractable towbar which if we had chosen a different model would have cost us another £3000 to have one fitted. Hence the reason we bought it.

Range Rover Sport (2022-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Fantastically luxurious interior | Question marks over brand reliability |
| Great to drive on and off road | No seven-seat option |
| Impressive EV range for PHEV models | Higher-spec models are very pricey |
Quick Summary
The Range Rover Sport (2022-present) is a world-class luxury SUV that combines modern styling with exceptional refinement and versatility. Based on JLR's MLA-Flex platform, this third-generation model offers limousine-like rear space, a generous 647-litre boot and a comprehensive suite of powertrains including diesel mild-hybrids, petrol plug-in hybrids with up to 71.5 miles of electric range, and powerful V8 options. The adaptive air suspension delivers outstanding ride comfort whilst the poised handling belies its substantial size, making it equally at home on motorways or challenging terrain.
Every model comes well-equipped as standard, with the entry-level S featuring 20-inch alloys, leather upholstery, heated seats and a Meridian sound system. The latest Pivi Pro infotainment system offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, though the shift to touch-controlled climate settings divides opinion. Strong residual values reflect consistent demand for used examples. However, durability concerns persist, and higher-spec models command premium pricing. For those prioritising luxury, capability and driving refinement, the Range Rover Sport represents an outstanding choice, despite its elevated running costs.
Best for: Buyers seeking a luxurious, capable SUV with impressive technology, those wanting excellent electric range in a PHEV, and drivers who value refinement and on-road comfort alongside off-road capability.
Not ideal for: Budget-conscious buyers, those requiring seven-seat capacity, or those concerned about brand reliability history and servicing costs.

The Verdict
You should buy the Range Rover Sport if: You're seeking a luxurious, capable SUV with impressive technology, wanting excellent electric range in a PHEV, or prioritising refinement and on-road comfort alongside off-road capability.
Consider alternatives if: You're budget-conscious, require seven-seat capacity, or have concerns about brand reliability history and servicing costs.
Competitive Position: The Range Rover Sport (2022-present) stands as a compelling choice in the luxury SUV segment, offering outstanding interior quality, versatile powertrains and impressive driving dynamics. Whilst the BMW X5 edges ahead on expert rating and the Porsche Cayenne excels in user satisfaction, the Range Rover Sport delivers superior value for money and a more comprehensive standard equipment list. Its plug-in hybrid options provide class-leading electric range, and its balanced blend of luxury, capability and refinement makes it a standout proposition for discerning buyers willing to invest in premium motoring. Durability concerns remain a consideration, but the strong residual values reflect enduring market demand.
