| Very cheap to buy and run | Jerky 2-Tronic automatic |
| Perky looks | Entry-level cars are very basic |
Quick Summary
The Peugeot 107 (2005-2014) is a compact city car renowned for its low running costs and surprising reliability. Thanks to shared parentage with the Toyota Aygo and Citroen C1, it benefits from a robust engine and transmission, making it a dependable choice for urban environments. Its tiny dimensions, light steering, and perky 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine make it exceptionally easy to manoeuvre and park in tight city spaces, offering a surprisingly fun drive.
While not the most practical with a small 139-litre boot and limited rear space, the 107 excels in affordability. Real-world fuel economy often exceeds 50mpg, and its low emissions result in very low road tax. Maintenance is straightforward and inexpensive, with readily available parts and low insurance groupings, making it an ideal first car or a budget-friendly option for city commuters.
Best for: Drivers on a budget, city commuters, first-time drivers, those prioritising low running costs and reliability.
Not ideal for: Buyers needing significant boot space or rear passenger room, those who frequently drive on motorways, or those seeking luxury and extensive equipment.

The Verdict
You should buy the 107 if: You're on a budget, seeking a sensible and reliable city car for commuters or first-time drivers, or prioritising low running costs.
Consider alternatives if: You need significant boot space or rear passenger room, frequently drive on motorways, or desire a more luxurious interior with extensive equipment.
Competitive Position: The Peugeot 107 (2005-2014) is an excellent choice in the used city car market, particularly for its exceptional value, low running costs, and surprising reliability, thanks to its shared platform with the Toyota Aygo. While it lacks the practicality and refinement of some larger rivals and can be noisy at speed, its affordability, ease of parking, and suitability for urban environments make it a highly attractive option for budget-conscious buyers and new drivers.

4.5 Overall rating
(19 reviews)Good value, good performance, inexpensive to run….very pleased so far…
Good value.. Nippy little car easy to park and economical to run.
Being 84 and somewhat disabled, I have reduced my driving considerably. I like the simplicity and smallness of the Peugeot 107. I need the 5-door version because I cannot lift the shopping out of the boot. I had no longer use the keypad magic, preferring a manual lock.
Cute quiet little car, with the benefit of being an automatic
Very economic car with good build quality and identical build spec of the Toyota Aygo/Citeon C1 and the Peugeot 107. all built the same
