Excellent build quality and a pleasure to drive. Lots of great features like the 3D Dash display, nicely laid out Plenty of performance from the relatively small engine. 99 positives 1 negative is that the foot pedals are a little too close together. All in all a brilliant little car

This is my 2nd 208. I have a 2018 208gtlne as well. I have driven lots of cars and vans over the last 40 years including Teslas and hybrids. Quite simply the 208 is the best used medium size hatchback on the market. The new 208 is even better.

Peugeot 208 (2019-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Sharp and stylish looks | Not as much fun as a Ford Fiesta |
| Comfortable and quiet | Only scored four out of five in Euro NCAP tests |
| Impressive battery-electric version | Quite pricey as a new car |
Quick Summary
The Peugeot 208 (2019-present) is a stylish and modern supermini that stands out in a competitive market thanks to its distinctive design and upmarket interior. Built on the brand's new CMP platform, it offers improved practicality over its predecessor, with a roomy cabin for front passengers and a 311-litre boot that expands to 1,106 litres with the rear seats folded. The car rides well, feels refined, and manages to feel like a bigger vehicle at speed, making it comfortable for longer journeys. A choice of powertrains includes 1.2-litre PureTech petrol engines with multiple outputs, a 1.5-litre BlueHDi diesel, and an impressive all-electric e-208 option.
The 208 is well-equipped across its range, with even entry-level Active models featuring air conditioning, electric heated mirrors, and smartphone integration. Higher trims add climate control, head-up displays, touchscreen navigation, and premium features like full LED headlights and electrochromic mirrors. Running costs are low, with petrol versions achieving around 53.6mpg and the e-208 offering excellent range for a small electric car. Service plans are affordable, starting from £8.05 per month for the e-208. Whilst not as engaging as a Ford Fiesta, the 208 delivers a mature, refined driving experience with good comfort and practicality.
Best for: Buyers seeking a stylish, comfortable, and well-equipped supermini with low running costs, those interested in an affordable electric car option, and drivers prioritising refinement and interior quality.
Not ideal for: Those wanting the sharpest handling and most engaging driving dynamics, buyers on the tightest budgets, or those requiring the highest Euro NCAP safety ratings.

| Renault Clio | 3/5 | 4.7/5 | 33.0% | 4.3/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the 208 if: You're seeking a stylish, comfortable, and well-equipped supermini with low running costs, interested in an affordable electric car option, or prioritising refinement and interior quality.
Consider alternatives if: You want the sharpest handling and most engaging driving dynamics, are on the tightest budgets, or require the highest Euro NCAP safety ratings.
Competitive Position: The Peugeot 208 (2019-present) is a strong contender in the supermini market, offering distinctive styling, a refined driving experience, and impressive equipment levels. Whilst the Ford Fiesta delivers sharper handling and the Seat Ibiza provides more space, the 208 excels in comfort, design, and the availability of an excellent electric option. Its upmarket feel and low running costs make it an attractive choice for buyers prioritising quality and practicality over outright driving engagement. The e-208 variant further strengthens its appeal for environmentally conscious drivers.
